when I saw him in my NBA Live 2000 I though that was a joke but I realized after that he really played in the NBA with this name.

Can some old school fan tell me more about this player ? was this is real name ?

World B. Free should be his real name and he played for the sixers and

World B. Free is now the 76ers Ambassador of Basketball. This means that he represents the 76ers throughout the Delaware Valley by visiting schools, playgrounds, rec centers, just about anywhere possible, talking to kids about all of the great things that basketball can do for you. Every summer, World and the 76ers take to the streets and the playgrounds in the Delaware Valley with a series of free basketball clinics that not only teach the fundamentals of basketball, but lessons of life as well. Although he now works in the 76ers front office, World was a very popular basketball player. In fact, World is one of the all-time great basketball players!

If you were asked to name some of the top 50 scorers in NBA history, would World B. Free come to mind? Close to 3,000 players have put on an NBA uniform since the league’s inception 52 years ago. Amongst the masses, which includes the likes of Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and David Robinson, World B. Free ranks 44 th all-time on the NBA scoring list.

Selected by the 76ers in the second round (23 rd overall) of the 1975 NBA Draft, Free poured-in 17,955 points over his illustrious 13-year career. The prolific scorer from Brooklyn spent four years as a 76er (1975-78, 1987), while also making stops in San Diego (1978-80), Golden State (1980-82), Cleveland (1983-86) and Houston (1987). As a member of the 1979-1980 San Diego Clippers Free put together his best season in the NBA. Free averaged an astounding 30.2 points over just 68 games, which landed him a spot in the 1980 NBA All-Star Game. He appeared in 886 games over his career, averaging 20.3 points while dishing-out 3.7 assists per contest.

Successful at every level, Free spent three years at Guilford College in North Carolina, where he averaged 23.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. He was a member of the 1973 NAIA Championship Team, while being named Most Valuable Player of the 1973 NAIA Tournament.

yep...if you watch that video on the site about world b. free, you will find out that he lit up magic johnson (who was they hype of the league since he was a rookie) for about 53 points....i must say pretty amazing looking shot too...they called it the rainbow jumper cos hed shoot it soo high...and oh yeah alex...i have a patch of him but i need to fix it so it has no fro...any headshape suggestions anyone??? thanks!!!
