Fuck This guy. Total Idiot. Wouldnt want this person on my team nor would wanna deal with him in real life.
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/21 ... From_Kings13.3 FG attempts a game while playing 27 Minutes a game. The reason he plays 27 Minutes a game is because he averages 5 Fouls per game in those 27 minutes. He also shoots
32% from the field as a Center. Given he shot 43% last year, this guy is definitely a cancer both production wise and team chemistry wise

Beat me to it by about three minutes, so I've deleted my thread.
What a prima donna. He's a talented player and puts up decent numbers across the board (though his shooting percentages are atrocious for a big man and his efficiency is nothing to write home about) but to demand a trade so early in his career is ridiculous. Granted, he's in a tough situation with the Kings being a basement team, but it speaks volumes about his character. If I'm one of the other 29 GMs in the league, I'm wary of trading for him regardless of his talent and potential. He's shaping up to be a headache.

This just in: Cousins traded to Trail Blazers for LA
Mon Jan 02, 2012 10:52 am
I feel bad for this guy. When he came in to the league he looked Shaq-like to me, but his attitude sucks. He should be glad he even has the chance to play, the way he acts, he dosen't even deserve to be in the NBA.

lol yeah right. I would seriously boycott the blazers if we got him on the team. Let alone give up Aldridge for him

I get this bad feeling the Mavs might go after him with the 5 void. Thyey don't really have great pieces to trade though.
Mon Jan 02, 2012 2:21 pm
I was thinking the same thing about the Mavs, Bobcats, and Heat. It would be hard to trade him because of his immense potential if he ever grows the fuck up and swallows his pride. But I doubt there are many teams willing to give solid players for him.
If he's just whining about being on a losing team then he's fucking retarded. It's not like he's a former superstar hunting for a ring in his 17th NBA season at age 38 or anything like that. He was picked in the lottery last year. Of course they're a losing team. They were bad enough to get the fifth pick. I hope for his sake that he didn't expect the Kings to be in the playoff hunt. I'm sure there's more to all this than just being on a losing team. Also he's played pretty terrible for someone with one year of experience demanding a trade.
Fuck this guy. I was hoping he would be a dominating yet versatile center kind of like a smaller, less athletic Shaq.

Kings say they won’t trade CousinsHours before Sacramento Kings coach Paul Westphal ordered DeMarcus Cousins to stay away from Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Hornets, the temperamental center had yet another shouting match with Westphal in the coach’s office, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Westphal and Cousins’ agent John Grieg are at odds over whether Cousins issued a actual trade demand – the coach said yes, the agent no – but a Kings player said he heard the center yelling that he wanted out of Sacramento, sources said.
“Trade me now,” Cousins was heard to yell after Saturday’s loss to the New York Knicks, a source told Y! Sports.
Kings co-owner Joe Maloof and general manager Geoff Petrie said they will not trade Cousins, regardless of his wishes. Cousins, 21, is in the second year of a rookie contract paying him $3.6 million this season, and it would be tough for the Kings to get equal value for a talented player who already has a long history of throwing temper tantrums.
“We’re happy that he’s a King,” Maloof told Y! Sports. “But when a coach asks you to do something, you got to do it. We’re not trading him. …We have great expectations for him. It’s just one of those things that happens.
“Sooner or later he’ll understand what the NBA is about. Just get along with people. That’s all.”
That may be overly optimistic. Perhaps he will mature and grow out of this kind of stuff, but right now he's shaping up to be the kind of person that will never quite "get it".

His attitude always has been an issue coming into the league. It seems it hasn't gotten that much better even now. What a distraction. The Kings I thought has somewhat interesting developing core in him, Evans, and Jimmer.

It seems Westphal is a big part of the conflict here, with the article I posted suggesting he'll be gone long before the Kings seriously consider trading Cousins. Still, it seems like he's still got plenty of attitude problems that he won't be outgrowing anytime soon.

Seems like he'll most likely end up on the Blazers or the pistons. The blazers could give up some of their bench for hom(i wish it was oden) And the pistons could offer up ben wallace and some other pieces

And to think I like the guy (as a player that is)

The Kings reportedly aren't in any rush to trade him. Admittedly that could be a ploy to try and get some leverage for a better deal, but it seems more likely that Westphal will be gone before Cousins.

I said it before he was drafted, I'll say it again. The guy is an absolute prima donna thug. The sooner he's run out of the league the better
Tue Jan 03, 2012 5:06 pm
Kings should just let this bonehead stay at home! And just screw him by letting his contract run out which ends after the 2013 season. Dude can't stay in shape while playing, let's see how well he does when he has nothing else to do at home.
Tue Jan 03, 2012 7:36 pm
Supposedly he's offered some apology and will be back in the lineup at some point, but one has to figure these incidents will continue unless he somehow grows out of this behaviour. However, if he's being coddled and enabled as that report from Woj and Spears suggests, that's not happening anytime soon. The talent is there, if not the efficiency, but as long as he's got that kind of attitude it'll always hold him back from being as good as he possibly can be.

If the situation deteriorates again, I'd like to see the Blazers offer a package like Batum and Oden for him.
Sun Jan 08, 2012 7:26 am
He sounds like a team cancer to me. I wouldn't want him on my team, maybe as a trade chip.

Well said.

Really? I must admit I'm surprised to see you're willing to give up Batum for a talented but inefficient headcase.

He'd be more efficient in Portland getting less minutes and shots, and playing for a better team. Cousins has not had a good start to his NBA career, but you have to give up an average starting small forward for a center with real star potential.
Sun Jan 08, 2012 11:44 am
Even if the Blazers get him but at what cost? Giving him minutes and trying to develop him will cost the team playoffs and Aldridge's prime years. He's in a development/maturing process and can't provide any wins but only distraction all over the places. He's 21 years old with upsides, but he can't provide wins for any teams at the moment. Let the lottery team like the Kings develop him first, teaching him whatever he needs about the basketball. And later he'll be off to the big market team for better chance/money whatever.

Our current center rotation is two guys in their late thirties, a D-Leaguer and Oden. Oden is the only one likely to be back next year. Cousins has shown flashes, and plays a position where Kwame Brown can make 7 million a year. The last couple seasons saw guys like Juwan Howard and Dante Cunningham play significant Center minutes, and our old guard won't last forever. Would rather take a chance on Cousins than have to let one of our SF's go to use our MLE on some bad Center next Summer.

Aha, so you agree with me now? Remember I said despite his physical abilities & potential, he was French (I love generalisations

) & therefore wouldn't amount to being more than an average NBA starter at best?

This.
It's the same guy that got crazy mad at Donte Greene for not passing the ball to him because Greene passed the ball to Tyreke Evans for the last shot.
Just imagine a repeat of that when he's with the Blazers and the ball is given to their go to guy Aldridge instead of him.

Fair enough. Unless I'm thinking of someone else here, I seem to recall you being fairly down on him in the past (and it is a fair call given his talents come with some troubles), so I was surprised at the suggestion.
