Aldridge has been doing a lot of this, for Carl Landry first, and now he's also trying to get Crawford. Don't want Crawful on my Blazers, but Miami might have won it all with him instead of say, Mike Miller.

If the season isn't cancelled, Crawford might be a possibility in the immediate future but I'd say they'd have to wait until the 2013 season for Nash, when he'll be a free agent. He doesn't seem likely to force his way out of Phoenix and the Heat don't really have any pieces they'd likely be willing to give up and the Suns would be interested in taking for Nash, ie big expiring contracts and high draft picks.

That's what I am saying actually. I think he can keep playing at that level for 2 or 3 more years. And it's pretty amazing considering his age. But despite him not relying on athleticism, he doesn't have the size which Kidd always had. One of Nash's strength has been foot speed/work which allows a quick first step and loss of that will affect his whole game.

I know, I'm suggesting he could feasibly go another four or five, health (and interest in doing so) permitting.

If Otis Smith could work some miracles with the bad contracts in Orlando, pair Nash up with Dwight Howard and a couple of other pieces, the Magic would be quite formidable and he'd be a clear upgrade on Nelson. Much easier said than done, though.

Depending on whether or not they trust Rondo to be as effective once the Big Three are gone, Boston could also take a chance and trade for Nash for one or two last runs at a title. He'd be a downgrade defensively and in terms of longevity, but he'd be an upgrade in terms of shooting and while Rondo did rack up the assists last year, I'd still deem Nash the superior playmaker.

I think Jamal and Nash will go after the money at least a little. So I don't think Miami will be their option anyways. But I'd say teaming up with Howard should be the best option for Nash as Andrew suggested. The guy will make Hedo and other craps much better. And Howard? He gets his John Stockton. I hope something happens soon cuz Nash ain't getting younger.

Agreed, Nash to Orlando would be great. They can keep Arenas as 6th man or amnesty him.

The question is, how do they get him? Phoenix would no doubt prefer to take on lottery picks and expiring contracts, neither of which the Magic have to offer.

Depending on terms of amnesty they could trade for Arenas and then cut him.

Or get Turkoglu back.

I agree. I think he could be a bench stabilizer, helping them get easy baskets. I also think it would be better with him on the bench because it would keep his defensive liabilities off the court for most of the game.

I wasn't really sure whether to classify the Magic as a contender, but you're right, he could easily start with them. The Lakers too, but I think they'll be going downhill and Kobe wouldn't give Nash the ball as much as he should get it. I'd see the same problem with Miami now as well, since both D-Wade and LeBron like to take the ball up the court. As for Boston, Nash would be an upgrade, but it all depends if they want a short-term fix or are looking beyond the big three. I'd probably stick with Rondo because he's still rather young and is a pretty good defender.

So yeah, I'd be hoping the Magic could land him out of all those teams as well.

It's definitely a gamble but I do wonder whether Rondo is actually a player that the Celtics can build around. He's a strong defender and really come along as a playmaker but can he put up the same kind of assist numbers without the Big Three around? He doesn't seem to have the mentality of a first option nor the tools to be one with a jumper that is still a bit shaky and abysmal free throw shooting for a guard. It'd be a really tough call, but I think if a player like Nash were available I'd take a chance on a future with Rondo as The Man for at least one more decent title run.

Re-signing him shouldn't happen but it will if the Suns are willing to overpay for his service I believe. And I don't think he'll end his career as a Sun. No fucking way not with a team that will be rebuilding for next decade or two.

Wrong. Just flat out wrong. Nash might be one of the best cerebral players in the game and the reason he's still so stellar is he has adjusted as he's aged and lost athleticism. His cognition of what he's doing currently, what his body is capable of doing, and what he needs to do/change to help his team is the best Ive seen in this era and is why everyone keeps saying "oh he's done" and then he still puts up his stellar numbers. The guy's never been a pure "athlete" player (say like Iverson) and I'm with Andrew here, Nash will be around till he decides not to anymore.

Heat should go ahead and chase Crawford for sure, Miller wanted to be LeBron while on the court. Do some rebounding and passing, not looking to shoot and when he did, they were bricks. James Jones should have played in the Finals more then him.

Last year Nash had his 3rd most assists per game in his career. With a fellow roster where Grant Hill and Vince Carter were the best scorers on the team. Sure his scoring went down a bit but that could be contributed to the fact defenses knew they barely had to cover anyone else.

You're basically saying he's going to regress to a point where he wouldnt start for 90% of teams in the league. Bullshit. Even on a contender unless you're the chicago bulls, you'd consider nash over your starter. Can you imagine Nash setting up Durant? Having KG/Ray Allen/paul pierce to outlet to? Sure he's old, but he's still great and acting like he's gonna fall apart (which most experts do every year), well ill believe it when i see it.

The crazy shit? what crazy shit? Nash has said repeatedly he wants to stay in phoenix pretty much no matter what. If he wanted to leave, he would have demanded out already. not EVERY player will change teams for an extra 5 million or so.
