shortest player to league lead in blocks?

yeah i was looking at some other post and some guys were joking about earl watson leading the league in blocks haha

..

.. but yeah who was the shortest player ever to lead the league in blocks?
big ben maybe? he's only 6'9.

i think its ben wallace. it might also be theo ratliff but theo might be 6'10

hmmm...good question, I also think its Ben Wallace but not 100% sure. Altough I know that he is the shortest player of all time to lead the league in both rebounds and blocked shots

you're all right, it's ben wallace who's generously listed at 6'9. another interesting fact: blocks became an official stat in '73 so aside from ben only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Walton and Hakeem Olajuwon — all members of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players -- have led the league in both blocks and rebounds. and on a sidenote, iverson and jordan are the only two players ever to lead the league in scoring and steals in the same season.

Wes Unseld, who played for the Wahsington Bullets through the 70's, was 6'7 and played center. He not only won ROY in his 1st season, but also MVP. He is considered one of the best defensive players of all-time. I don't know if he ever lead the league in blocks, but I can only assume he did.

never even close... he totaled 367 blocks in the 8 years since the statistic was being recorded. Elmore Smith earned 393 blocks in a season when he led the league in 1974. Mark Eaton had 456 blocks when he led the league in 1985, most ever (recorded) for a season.

A few years ago, Mark Jackson, when he played for the Raptors, had two blocks in a game. The game was like a first game of the season type thing. So for like that day he lead the league.

It might happen that someone 6-7 led the league in block shots for a short period of time but not for the whole season, as others stated the smallest player ever to lead the league in block shots is Ben Wallace.

We have Terry Tyler (6-7) from the Pistons in 79-80, who finished with 220 blocks 4th behind the leader (Jabbar) who finished with 280 in total, it might have happened that he led the league in blocks part of that season, but that's just a comment.

The shots blocked started to be compiled starting the 73-74 season, since that moment, only Centers had led the league in block shots for the full season until Ben Wallace put an end to that streak.

Sorry for the side topic but....
damn in that picture of T-Mac and Vince for the olympic team, it looks like T-Mac has been pumping up for next season cause I always remembered him as really skinny. He also looks much taller than Vince.

yer he does look like hes put on some muscle
and of course hes taller than vince
T-Mac is about 6'8 6'9 and vince is about 6'5 6'6 i think
nba.com list t-mac at 6'8 but he does look a lot taller

anyway back to topic.
im pretty sure its ben wallace hes about 6'8, i reckon, with afro hes about 6'11 7 feet lol prolly even taller
anyway some guy around here averagd 2.9bpg and was only 6'4 lol
he lead the A grade comp.
but i guess that really does not count

nba.com list t-mac at 6'8 but he does look a lot taller

maybe he looks taller because he isnt that bulky.
