Tue Apr 19, 2011 8:10 pm

Just to be sure, 'cause there are sites that say yes and there are sites that say no. Will there be a lockout?

Are the WWE actors unionized and able to strike?

Of course there is. The NBA has more wrestling in it.

no i bet vince mcmahon considers them "independent contractors" so he doesn't have to take responsibility when they get hurt.

There's also the fact they have little skills that can't be replaced overnight.

How long does the lockout usually take? Will there be games played even just a little or no games at all? I still am kind of interested in watching the WWE though.

Lockout lasts until the players and owners agree to play again.

This period of time could range from a few days to a year or more.

The players will cave at some point because they're idiots and thus unionized, but the time before they cave depends on how long the veterans and members in power are willing to starve the idiot newbies in order to agree to a deal that further harms rookies and enriches veterans and owners.

Could there be a chance that they'd agree on a deal and the 2011-2012 season will play on?

He does. Isn't that fairly common knowledge?

There's always a chance but right now, it doesn't look that likely. It seems that a lockout is looming, whether or not any games or indeed the whole season will be lost isn't 100% certain just yet but it seems that's a distinct possibility.

A wrestlers' union on Vince McMahon's watch? More than a couple of wrestlers have been wished well in their future endeavours over the years for even suggesting the idea.

So, what are the big issues? What is each side trying to get?

The NBA want shorter contracts, less guaranteed money, increased age limit and whatever else. Players union want the opposite, though they'll probably bend on the age restriction because ultimately they are looking after themselves not the future generations.

I think the big sticking point is the NBA are crying poor and the players union are saying the league are making even more money so they deserve a bigger percentage of what the league makes as a result of that, or something.
