Steve Nash trade speculation

Postby Alejandrov011 on Sat Jan 15, 2011 7:56 am

I saw in NBA.com that Scott Howard-Cooper archive that Phoenix should trade Steve Nash so they can start rebuilding..

Everybody in the NBA wants Nash out of Phoenix since 2008, and when they missed the playoffs in 2009 the trade speculation went through the sky.

Now.. It's me or everybody wants Phoenix to be a mediocre team?.. Remember.. all the speculation with Shawn Marion at the time.. Then Stoudemire and now Nash..

Why not the same talk of trades (for example) with Houston? They have a pretty good team, but they don't have a good record and they misseds playoffs last year.. Where are the rumours?

Just a thought.

I'm probably one of like five people in the whole world who actually thinks Nash will stay in Phoenix. You couldn't possibly ask for anyone better than Steve Nash to help a team rebuild. He's said that he's willing to help rebuild the team. He's not a ring chaser like most of the other superstars in the NBA

Nash will stay in Phoenix unless he specifically asks out. Suns' management knows that the fan & city love him & there would be a major backlash if they traded him without him first asking out.

Nash is the only one that draws fans (money) to the stadium. The cheap owner won't trade him unless Nash asked for it, like what the X said.

Agreed, but honestly, if he wasn't a fan attraction, they would've shipped him already.

Yeah i heard that for a while now to, people are saying that its not fair to keep Nash on a team like phoenix. Nash can't get a ring playing for the suns. There are no scorers around him. He needs to be traded to a team that can compete. I hope Nash doesn't retire without a ring, because this is one guy who deserves it.

The talk of Nash being traded stems from the notion that since he's a star player getting on in age and may not have too many years left in the league, it'd be nice for him to go to a contender and have another shot or two at winning a championship before his career is over. In contrast, the Rockets don't have anyone in that situation except perhaps Yao Ming and he's out for the season (and possibly longer) anyway.
