Dunk Contest 2011

A bit early but talk around the Dunk Contest is starting to show up.

Blake Griffin is a lock. There is an interview on NBA.com where he says he hasn't been contacted but is definitely interested.

Josh McRoberts made a promo video that recreates a scene in White Men Can't Jump that I just can't wait to see (DUKE)

Westbrook, Derozen, Derrick Rose, Rudy Gay, and McGee are the others I'd like to see. And yes, that is my off way of saying I'd like to see more players (6) and 3 rounds for more dunks.

JR pioneered the behind the back dunk and iggy destroyed it off a bounce. he's a great in game dunker but I dont think there are any creative juices left for the DC

and Iggy won't go back after losing to Nate Robinson

fucking nate is a joke. iggy shouldve won it that year and kenny smith screwed him over. no way he does it again. its a dunk contest not a pity contest. everyone should be judged on dunking ability only not jumping ability.

blake said he'd do it, but i dunno he might be just a great in-game dunker. i'd like to see terrence williams do it he shouldve been in it last year.

I would like to see Blake, McGee, Westbrook, Derozan. Also I would like to see the judges actually judge again in the final round, no more fan texting.

I wouldn't mind text voting....if it happened after all the dunks and was for all player.

So have all 4 players do 4 dunks. Let voting start, then let the team flight brother guys or whoever is in the sprite dunk contest thing show up the NBAers (or do the 3pt contest) and then reveal the winner after.

he's had some SICK in-game dunks this year and was a candidate to do it last year so i would love to see him in too?

I don't think Mcgee , Griffin and Westbrook will be good DC dunkers , I think they are just good in game ones.

Ideally, I'd like to see a field of six. Three dunks per round, top three in the first round advance to the Finals. All scoring by the judges, no fan voting. Or if you do let fans have a vote, don't open the polls until after the final round is complete, otherwise it's pointless even having the final round. I'd much prefer to keep it to the panel of five judges though. For the field of competitors, I'd take Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon, Russell Westbrook, Demar DeRozan, Rudy Gay and Shannon Brown.

If it's going to be a similar format to last year with a field of four, I'll take Griffin, Gordon, Westbrook and DeRozan.

After last year's effort, I wouldn't want to see Gerald Wallace in the contest again. Shannon Brown was disappointing too but he still seemed more into it and if they did expand the field I'd like to see him get another shot.

Shannon Brown will redeem himself if he is in again.

Gerald Wallace sucked last year , in all seriousness , I can do that dunks . I think he was just uninterested , remember his DC back in his Sacramento days , he did great back then. But maybe the age has gone to him.

I'd say lineup should be Blake Griffin, David Lee, Chase Budinger & Demar Derozan. Actually sub out Lee, he should've been in contest 4 years ago. Just add some little guy not named Shannon.
