I can't find it any where online but there's a trade that's iminent between Phoenix and Orlando that will move, Marcin Gortat and Vince Carter to the suns for Jason Richardson and Hedu Turkgolu. I heard it today on tv and they said the trade is iminent! Your thoughts?

http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/32262460/ ... ayer_news/Personally I don't like the Magic losing Gortat AND Pietrus... Gortat is valuable to the magic as a backup center since Dwight can get into foul trouble at the wrong times and Pietrus, although inconsistent, has sudden bursts in key moments...
EDIT: There's also reports of Arenas going to the Magic.
Sun Dec 19, 2010 5:36 am
I also read today on a greek sport site that Arenas is close on being traded to Orlando for Carter and Gortat! The article said though that the Magic wanted as well to add Hedo and looked for a trade with the Suns.
Here's the source

I'd rather they get Richardson and Turk, than Arenas.
Sun Dec 19, 2010 5:45 am
Yeah, i just read at an orlando magic sports site that, they have been in pursuit of Hedu for a while. Because on draft night they had talks with the raptors while Hedu played for them. They also said the trade "might" happend. And oh yeah, i've also heard that rumor as well about the magic being in pursuit of Gilbert Arenas.
Then i'd like to see some kind of deal that would send Jameer Nelson in a trade some how to new orleans for Chris Paul, just imagine how strong that team would be. Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Jason Richardson, ?shooting gaurd don't know who'd be shooting gaurd, Reddick? Chris Paul. It would be better for the magic to get JR and HT instead of Arenas, although the magic currently needs a point gaurd.

NO!!!!
Don't trade Richardson!!! I don't care what happens to Earl Clark and I want Turk moved. But Richardson! He's Phoenix's best scorer!

What the fuck is PHX trying to pull here? Just send away Nash to a contender already FFS... And why would ORL want Hedo back anyways? That guy ain't the same Hedo they used to own. ORL just better try to get rid of Lewis and his badass contract for whatever they can get. It'd be really stupid if this deal happens.

I have no clue Zan. J-Rich is a top 5 SG when he's playing well, and I'm scared they might actually pull the trigger for a guy who was really good 10 years ago (VC). Orlando probably thinks Hedo will play well for them because he did before (stupid? yes.)
Sun Dec 19, 2010 6:12 am
Not sure if J-Rich will be that much of an upgrade over VC. He should be ok as Magic but pretty much same shit as VC. Furthermore, losing Gortat makes it worse for Lando. The guy's the only back up for Dwight.
And TurkeyLu now is a overpaid washed player. That's a huge difference.
And Nash doesn't deserve this shit. He should be with the contender. Whatever PHX is doing for themselves, they're just delaying the inevitable. FFS, focus on rebuilding already.
But the deal I guess is close to being done...
Sun Dec 19, 2010 6:14 am
The Suns are dumbshits. Why trade an amazing player (J-Rich) for some old washed up guy (Carter). I think Phoenix still can't get over that they're rebuilding, but they're killing themselves now. And the true winner would be the Wizards, you get some decent players and have Wall be the star.
Sun Dec 19, 2010 6:15 am
Getting Nash in Orlando would be epic. No need for Arenas either!
EDIT: Reading reports that the deal has been confirmed. Gortat, Pietrus and VC for J-Rich, Earl Clark and Turkoglu. Also supposedly Magic is shipping out Lewis for Arenas plus a back up big man

FUCK.
*commits suicide*

Hope it's real.

Trade for the Suns. Turrible
Sun Dec 19, 2010 7:20 am
It's all right. Maybe some cap space though (but who are the players at '11 FA market?)
Hedo: Bring back the memories of Hedo at Magic. Please. What about Otis Smith???
J-Rich: We couldn't see VC and Hedo at Magic both, but J-Rich and VC are similar.
Gortat: Hey. Do Phoenix need a backup for Frye? No, but yes because C is most important position.
Carter: As what I say about J-Rich, but Phoenix will not have someone similar to J-Rich for the team's situation.
Sun Dec 19, 2010 7:24 am
Wow, this 1-5 stretch for the Magic sure started a fire sale. they'll probably return to 'Dwight with 4 shooters' line-up with Nelson, Arenas, Richardson and Turkoglu and Bass will move back to the bench.
Sun Dec 19, 2010 7:31 am
Like the deal(s) for Orlando and Phoenix. The Magic upgrade their overall talent (I like Gortat but there wasn't a lot of PT for him. Hate Hedo's game, but Orlando was the only place he fit well), Phoenix starts rebuilding (Vince is only guaranteed $4 mil next year) and finally gets a decent center.
Don't know what Washington's thinking. Does Ra$hard's deal expire a year earlier than Gil's?
Sun Dec 19, 2010 7:39 am
This trade comes in two parts, and both parts benefit the Magic.
Getting rid of Lewis' contract, even for Arenas' contract is still an upgrade. Lewis is by far one of the most underachieving players (salary-wise) in the NBA. Lewis is also extremely easy to replace on the Magic rotation. It's not like the team isn't full of catch-and-shoot guys.
Arenas is a gamble, blah blah blah. He's still a beast, capable of making great plays in a solid system. He can really be the spark that carries the Magic's second team this season. This does make us a little SG heavy though, with JJ, Gilb (not really much of a PG and won't get time over Nelson or Duhon), and Richardson. All three SGs are extremely capable. I could see the Magic pulling off one more trade to get rid of JJ for a cheaper big man. I wouldn't want to see JJ go, but it seems almost necessary.
The Phoenix trade is all about Richardson. Turk will easily fit into the starting lineup, dropping the underachieving Q-Rich back to the bench where he belongs. Richardson is a fucking beast and one of the most underrated scorers in the NBA. This guy is the kind of finisher the Magic needed. Turk will obviously strive in the system.
The Magic had to make a trade, and I sure am glad that they made it this early in the season, allowing for the new team to gain some chemistry. Just imagine the ridiculous lineups Stan can play now.... He has Gilb, JJ, J-Rich, Hedo, Nelson, Duhon, and J-Will who can all be played together in some combination at the same time.
Bass should start at PF, as he clearly deserves that spot. He adds a rebounder (something that the Magic's starting 5 desperately needs) and has a solid game that I can only compare to Horace Grant's days with the Magic. His midrange jumper is almost perfect, and he's a strong physical player in contrast with the shooters that surround him on the team.
All in all, as a Magic fan, I'm pleased and intrigued.
Phoenix are rebuilding, so the trade is an obvious one. Washington wanted to get rid of Gilb, so the trade also works for them. It's not often that you see such a well-rounded trade in this league.

The only positive thing about his contract :
But only $10 million of the $22.6 million he is owed in the final year of the contract, in 2012-13, is fully guaranteed
I think $hard will do well playing the 3 in Washington.

well phoenix had to take carter for j rich in order to dump turkoglu's bad contract. interestingly enough, trading cater allows turkoglu to get #15 back if he wants it. i agree with whoever said lewis for arenas is a gamble. lewis wasn't doing a whole lot for them anyways and they can easily replace his 3 point shooting with anderson and have a solid replacement in bass. so i think they will go: Dwight/Bass/Turk/JRich/Nelson with anderson/allen/qrich/jj/arenas off the bench (i didnt even know they had malik allen) and duhon/jwill complete the active roster and i they have daniel orton who i think is injured. they are a very deep team and arguably better than their finals team, which had a broken jameer

Wow!!!!!!!!! I just saw on tv that the magic have just traded Rashard Lewis to washington for Gilbert Arenas!
Sun Dec 19, 2010 8:34 am
They better start Bass, he is the best 4 they have.
Sun Dec 19, 2010 8:37 am
I always figured that Gilbert would end up in Orlando, but I figured it would have been for VC's contract, but Lewis isn't a surprise. It's basically Washington saying, "Gil's contract is horrible and he doesn't fit here anymore, let's trade him for an equally bad contract and try to make this work."
I don't really like how they have Thornton, Howard, and now Lewis at SF in Washington. I've always thought the Thornton/Howard duo was redundant, and Rashard is basically a three-point shooting version of them... maybe it works out though, gives Wall someone to drive and dish too.
Phoenix got a decent haul back for a bad contract/bad attitude player and J-Rich. I think they're starting to tear everything apart now, and with two of their biggest contracts off the books, they've got somewhat of a youngish duo to go along with VC's inevitable expiring. I doubt Nash gets traded anytime soon unless he demands it though. The Suns know that's the only reason fans come to their games and I don't think they want to lose that sooner than they have to.
Orlando makes out very well though. They lose their over-paid backup center and some streaky wing players to gain a streaky wing player, but I think J-Rich will thrive off the open looks Dwight will give him. My main concern is touches. I know J-Rich won't demand the ball and neither will Bass, but Hedo and Gilbert need the ball in their hands to be successful, how they figure their jobs out will be a key.
It doesn't help that Orlando is now left with Jameer Nelson, who I don't see being too pleased with a backup role, and Chris Duhon's whale of a contract. I don't think it's horrible for anyone but Nash.
