Yes it is a possibility.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-08-17/knicks-seek-nba-all-star-anthony-in-trade-for-gallinari-curry-espn-says.htmlThe New York Knicks will offer Danilo Gallinari, Eddy Curry and a future first-round draft pick for Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony, the team’s flagship radio station reported.
Anthony, a National Basketball Association All-Star who averaged 28.2 points per game last season, is trying to force his way out of Denver, where he has a year remaining on his contract, ESPN reported today. ESPN 1050, the network’s New York radio station, said the Knicks’ potential offer involves Gallinari and Curry’s expiring $11.3 million contract.
Gallinari averaged 15.1 points per game during his second season with the Knicks. Curry has battled injuries and weight issues during his five seasons with the Knicks, appearing in 10 games over the past two years.
The Knicks, who signed All-Star forward Amar’e Stoudemire to a five-year, $100 million contract last month, went 29-53 last season and haven’t made the playoffs the last six seasons.
Knicks spokesman Nick Brown declined to comment on the report.
Would be a shitty trade for Denver if it really happened.

Won't happen, though as overrated as Melo is, that's a turrible deal.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:06 am
From all accounts Denver is trying to avoid falling victim to the same fate as Cleveland, so moving Melo before it's too late isn't a bad idea at all. They should be able to get a better deal than that, though.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:07 am
Seems that Melo really wants out and the McNuggets may have to succumb to some real crap trade. Like this one. Everyone seems to want to flock to NY in the next two years. NYC is officially the new Miami.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:09 am
I'd consider it as a starting point, what better deals are probably out there?
I'd just wait until Isiah Thomas was back in power at which point he'd start offering me five or six picks, Anthony Randolph and Wilson Chandler too. And agreeing to a deal that also sends me Turiaf and Azubuike while taking back Kenyon Martin.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:09 am
Meh, every player in the NBA has been linked to the Knicks via the rumor mill three times over.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:11 am
And yet people keep thinking it has to do with the Knicks and not where a huge swath of the media is based.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:13 am
this would be very cool though. I want to hate the Knicks but I can't hate a team that sucks (I can enjoy it, just not hate them)
so yea, hate on
Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:16 am
I don't like the deal. Sure Gallinari is an effective three-point shooter, but he doesn't play much defense. Eddy Curry on the other hand is someone that's not worth his contract. This is a deal that someone like David Kahn would accept.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:23 am
The point of acquiring Eddy Curry is that his contract expires after the season.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:37 am
If New York continued to be a lottery team, the first rounder would almost make that deal for me. But with Melo and Amare on the same team, it'd be hard to see that happening. I'd hate to see Melo leave, but if it meant avoiding a LeBron-esque situation, a trade is probably a good idea.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 12:28 pm
Hope this trade won't happen..
Wed Aug 18, 2010 12:40 pm
I doubt the Nuggets would pull the trigger on a trade this early unless they truly believe they can't get anything better for Melo, and that seems unlikely.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 12:57 pm
I agree with u guys that it ain't much of a deal for the Nugs. Melo's value is up there at the top so I don't see the Nugs biting this deal.
As for the Knicks, it's only good that Melo mentioned them as a favored place to play at. Probably, there's a good chance him ending up there anyways.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 1:02 pm
It's also reported that Orlando are on the top of his list as well. I think the Nuggets could get a better deal from them, considering the Magic is such a deep team.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 1:03 pm
He also reportedly has Orlando as a preferred destination.
EDIT: See the post above for more information.

Any chance Knicks pull what Heat did this summer with their cap situation next season? Perhaps, for Chris Paul and Melo.

Less than 50%.

I know the Knicks are in a bigger market, but him wanting to go there still doesn't make sense to me. He'll be teaming up with a guy who couldn't win a title with possibly the best point guard in the league, as opposed to being teamed up with a guy who not only won a finals MVP, but at one stage was in 7 consecutive conference finals.
I know there's other contributing factors, but I think he'd have a better chance of winning if he was playing for Denver and in the end, isn't that the big motivator?
EDIT: Spoken like a true Nuggets fan I guess
Wed Aug 18, 2010 5:36 pm
Seems like Melo wants out from the Nuggets though. Should be interesting how things turn out next season.
Wed Aug 18, 2010 7:44 pm
It seems that Knicks want to do the things they want one year earlier.
As Melo wants to leave the Nuggets, next year he will be free to do it.
But if they do the trade now,Knicks will be clearly the winners on this, talking about the short-term situation

Carmelo for Dwight? It happened in my Live franchise.
Thu Aug 19, 2010 3:04 am
Not only trading Dwight for Melo is stupid when the team has numerous 'lesser' players that are shooters like Melo but referencing a trade based on videogames with flawed trade logic (Live/2K) is idiotic.

It seems as unlikely as my Jalen Rose, Marcus Fizer and Roger Mason Jr for Kevin Garnett swap in NBA Live 2004. Good times.
