... for two first rounders and a trade exception. Jefferson's no Boozer, but he's a great replacement, and should keep Utah in the middle of the west playoff race. Don't like that it means they probably won't match Matthews though. Really don't want his toxic contract in Portland.

Poor Wolves.
Wed Jul 14, 2010 5:52 am
Poor Wolves? They save $14 million and free playing time for their budding superstar, who happens to play the same position as Al Jeff.
Wed Jul 14, 2010 5:53 am
This will open playing time for Beasley and they have Kevin Love and the marvellous Darko Milicic, so maybe the Wolves can benefit from it, as long as Beasley starts playing like a #2 overall pick.
For the Jazz, they get a replacement for Boozer at a cheap price, so well done. I doubt they match Matthews ludicrous offer sheet.

If Jonny Flynn dies in a car accident, and they don't decide to start Beasley over Love, Minny could be looking at 25 wins!

Eddie Griffin-2?

So what happens to Memo?
Wed Jul 14, 2010 7:10 am
Nothing? he keeps starting

No, why would you take the contract and inside scoring of Jefferson to put on the bench? Or why would you resign Millsap last year, let Boozer go this year, and bench your best rebounder?
Memo is going to the bench no doubt.
Wed Jul 14, 2010 11:33 am
There's a good chance Memo will miss part of the season, and might be a shell of his former self now after that injury. However, the Jazz never seemed to have a problem having Millsap off the bench before. The Wolves traded Al Jeff because he didn't want to play the 5, so I reckon he starts at the 4.
Wed Jul 14, 2010 11:42 am
Fine move for the Jazz in the wake of Boozer's departure, without giving up too much.
Wed Jul 14, 2010 12:10 pm
Al Jefferson is with the Jazz in my dynasty.
Wed Jul 14, 2010 4:26 pm
The Jazz win big on this one, they get the best possible replacement for Boozer and to be honest, for almost nothing.
Okur won't start the season, so we will probably see Jefferson starts along with Milsap. It's though to predict what happens when Okurs returns.
I don't like this at all for the Wolves, they let their best player go for draft picks! Without this trade their roster is very deep with:
C: Jefferson, Milicic, Hollins, Pekovic
PF: Love, Jefferson, Beasley
SF: Beasley, Brewer, Johnson
SG: Webster, Ellington
PG: Flynn, Sessions
IMO that's one NICE roster!!
Wed Jul 14, 2010 4:37 pm
No, it's not.
Wed Jul 14, 2010 4:39 pm
Johnson won't be their third rotation SF. Beasley will play PF and Webster won't start.

It's a nice roster IMO, plenty of depth in the post and some nice wing players with potential. I guess it doesn't matter now with Jefferson leaving.

I posted a potential lineup with Jefferson in the mix, it will be different now that he's gone.
Webster is the closest they have to a pure SG, I guess Brewer could start but I would prefer Webster because of his range.
I could see Beasley starting in SF and Love in PF, I think it would be a waste leaving either out of the starting 5.
Wed Jul 14, 2010 6:33 pm
Webster is a pure SG who primarily played the 3 and the 4 last season?
Wed Jul 14, 2010 7:03 pm
Well, he used to play the 2 with Outlaw/Batum playing the 3, don't remember him playing the 4 though..
As far as the Wolves roster, I think he could play the 2 better than a lot of the other players (Ellington is a combo guard and Brewer is more of a 3).
Wed Jul 14, 2010 7:16 pm
He played more minutes in PF than SG last season.
SF > PF > SG
Wed Jul 14, 2010 7:21 pm
If they get Ridnour and don't trade Sessions, then I think Sessions is the starting SG.
Thu Jul 15, 2010 12:26 am
I'm glad Jefferson has moved on from the T-Wolves since it'll give Love more time to shine. I'm also hoping that it'll free up more minutes for Beasley too. Is Nathan Jawai still in Minnesota?
Thu Jul 15, 2010 1:35 am
If i'm not wrong,Kostas Koufos is a part of the trade as well, which makes Wolves having 3 Centers, who are both European
Also the trade exception was from the Bulls-Boozer sign and trade(i just learned that it was a sign and trade)

They want to keep being the team with the most draft picks in every draft!

Kevin Love is still on the team.

No Love for Kevin.
