ArticleFor those who don't feel like reading the whole thing:
1. The games (the lack of them and the blowouts)
2. LeBron James
3. The Denver Nuggets
4. The Atlanta Hawks
5. Game of the Hawks/Bucks series
6. Charlotte's performance
7. Only six games featuring the Thunder
8. No Hubie Brown in the second round
9. The referees
10. No flow (scheduling)You could debate the order, but I reckon that's a pretty good list with number one being far and away the greatest disappointment. It's been a lackluster postseason so far.
Mon May 24, 2010 1:54 pm
I'd agree with that list. Fans love parody and that's something the NBA has had none of this postseason. I actually heard Hubie on ESPN Radio the other night, I think he's been doing radio for the last round and a half.
Mon May 24, 2010 1:57 pm
Mavs,anyone?

Think you meant Parity?

I think the worst part of the 2010 NBA playoffs is the 2010 NBA playoffs, personally.
Mon May 24, 2010 6:10 pm
I think there are still some stuff interesting about this year's playoffs, like Nash the pirate, Pierce's game winning shot, Thunder almost forcing a game 7, Mavs getting upset again, etc.
Mon May 24, 2010 7:19 pm
True, but with the exception of Nash's one-eyed performance, that all happened in the first round. The competitiveness and general excitement have dwindled since then.

For me, a playoffs without the Rockets is already disappointing.

To be on topic, these are the most disappointing things about this year's playoffs in my opinion:
- LeBron James (shooting bricks in game 5 when the Cavs needed to win, but his teammates were also terrible)
- The Mavs. I hardly hear anything about that series because it ended too fast.
- The Orlando Magic. 0-3 against Boston so far. Each game a blowout. Just awful to watch.
- The lack of excitement and enthusiasm in the other series i.e. Atlanta vs. Orlando, etc..

I absolutely agree that the ECF has been atrocious, though Game 2 wasn't a bad game. The Magic choked it away but it was a much better game from start to finish than Games 1 and 3. Game 1 also at least looked interesting for a moment there with the Orlando run that fell short. Game 3 was definitely a complete waste though.

i disagree. the ECF have been pretty fun to watch. biggest disappointment for me is that the stupid lakers are still playing

Yes. That sucked.

That sucked too.

It's not like I wasn't expecting it... GO CELTICS!!! Sweep the team who swept!!!

I couldn't agree with you more.
Andrew wrote:The referees
When is that
ever not the case. I think part of being a referee is your supposed to make bad calls.
Why is the first playoffs that I actually bother to watch such a boring piece of shit?

Totally agree.
And really, the lack of close games and 7-game series are the biggest disappointments in my opinion.

the refs have always been top 3 for biggest disappointment in the playoffs. i have seen them flat our rip off teams like the mavs, suns, blazers, and kings for example

Why do you think the Mavs lost?!?!?!?!? Like I said...
part of being a referee is your supposed to make bad calls.
Easy. The refs gave the Spurs some $.
Tue May 25, 2010 6:58 am
the nba was really pushing wade that year. i think the ref even called a foul on a guy in the 3rd row cause he got too close to wade

Indeed I did, total brain fart on my part.

Or people just enjoyed watching the most exciting young team in the NBA?

Knowing and despising refs, that's probably true.

that's my #1 pick. they had another fine season and they looked like would have matched well against the lakers should they have met them in the Conf. finals
Tue May 25, 2010 12:37 pm
Though I picked them in seven, I knew the Mavs wouldn't go far in these playoffs. Overrated team.
Tue May 25, 2010 1:26 pm
The fact that the first overtime of the 2010 playoffs was today.

Fair call for a Celtics fan to make. Blowouts needn't be boring if your favourite team's on the right side of the scoreboard. If you're a Celtics or Lakers fan, I have no doubt these Playoffs in general would be very entertaining.
Tue May 25, 2010 4:26 pm
Speaking of Mavs, ironically, I think the Spurs were also disappointing just about as much. They knocked off a pretty good team just to get swept. For a moment, I was excited and delusioned to think that I was seeing a good ole dynasty days Spurs. Good old Spurs VS Healthy Defending Champ Lakers, that was what I was hoping for, but then watching the Suns offense was pretty cool too, I guess.
As for Eastern Conference, I am half excited to see the Celtics playing so well. The Champions of last two years in the finals? My favorite teams aren't in the playoffs anymore so might as well wish for the two great teams in the finals. So this year's playoffs hasn't been actually that much disappointing for me. But yeah, there seem to be less heroic stuffz and exciting upsets.

they were up til last night. damn magic i had a lot of shit to talk to my friends and now i gotta wait a couple more days

How many buzzer beaters were in last year's playoffs? I know Big Baby made one and LeBron made one too, both against the Magic. This year there's only been one, by Paul Pierce, but it was meaningless as the Celtics would've beaten the Heat anyways. I'd like to see at least one more GW buzzer beater.
