Your Prediction of Most Improved Teams of next season

Postby atlwarrior on Thu Apr 29, 2010 5:04 am

My Most improved teams of next season would be...

1. Oklahoma City Thunder- This team really is going to be a problem for many teams and many years to come. They could use some size. Hopefully thats their focus during the off season.
2. Chicago Bulls- I expect them to Jump to a fourth or fifth seed next season. Hopefully theyll keep Vinny Del Negro. They really dont need that many pieces to contend in the East.
3.Memphis Grizzlies- They already have the pieces.I only expect them to be an eighth seed at the most though.
4. New Orleans Hornets- Hornet Basketball is back with a healthy Chris Paul who doesn't have to play as many minutes because of Collison of course.
5. Portland Trail Blazers- A potential 2 seed if Greg Oden and the others get healthy.
Outside looking in...
LA Clippers- Idk why but I expect a huge off season for this team.
NY Knicks- They'll get atleast two big players this off-season.

I Really wouldnt say that Thunder will be the Most Improved team of the next season, they are the most improved now,how can they be the most improved next year?? (they should win 70 games or something).

I'd say Knicks will be owned in the off-season,so ill say that Warriors might be the most improved team, especially if they are healthy.

Don't forget Miami. Wade and another superstar can lead the team to a next level... at least that's what I'm hoping.

How can you forget to add the Rockets? With Yao coming back (and assuming he stays healthy the whole season), and with the addition of Kevin Martin's offense (and FT's), Aaron Brooks' improvement (and Scola's), and Jordan Hill providing good defense, the Rockets should have a monster season next season. (Hopefully)

Decent thread with all the fanboys rooting for their teams not to suck again next season. Oh how a lot of you will be disappointed.

Hard to say before the offseason has even begun and we find out where some of the major names are going (or not going, as the case may be). Until player movement begins and we've got more to work with as far as making projections from statistical wizardry or even just an educated guess, we can really only make vague predictions.

New Jersey will probably win an additional 20+ games based on health alone, and they also have a shit load of cap space. (unfortunately, I could see it being used to overpay Rudy Gay or David Lee) OKC is a popular candidate, but even if they score a big man, I can't see them having a massive record jump.

Houston and Portland should dominate, if Yao and Oden stay healthy. However, that is a huge if.

Well if Yao and the others get healthy they have a chance to win maybe 50 wins. If Utah gets a top 3 pick in the draft they have a major chance to improve their roster. I think Chicago now has the best chance to lure in a quality star player.

It's hard to predict when the offseason is still not around.

I wanted to list Houston but I am going to wait on that bc Yao's not fully recovered just yet I believe. I thought at the beginning of the season they wouldve been better off with that roster plus Yao. I thought McGrady was the only one who needed to go. And im going to wait and see how Utah does in the playoffs bc so far they already look like theyve made some improvement. Next season If they start Fesenko and Cj Miles and have Okur and Kirilenko coming off the bench then that would be pretty deadly right there. Bc then they would have four threats off of the bench with Okur, Kirilenko, Millsap, and Korver.

Or they could just start the two superior players instead of two of their worst players just to create a faux-bench.

If the Jazz luck into the #2 pick and they take Evan Turner THEN sign-and-trade Boozer for a decent package of player(s) they could be deadly.

I was disappointed this season, so how bad can next season be for the Rockets?

Just wondering, how much could Yao possibly improve the Rockets next season? I got into an argument with some Rockets fan who claimed the Rockets would "destroy" the Mavs next season by getting Yao back and adding Epke Udoh in the draft. That's not completely BS, but it usually ends up a 2-2 split because, well, it just happens.

How much more effective would say, an 80% Yao's possessions be over Martin or Scola or Brooks? What about on the dfensive end?

For sure, even with Yao back, it's a big question mark due to his health and having a different supporting casts now. With Artest, T-Mac, and last but not least, Landry(I really liked this kid) gone, the Rockets are surely a different team now. Though I think they'll make the playoffs with healthy Yao, there are a lot to doubt, and that's for sure.
