Kidd & Morning to Spurs/Mavs

Postby Bill Russell on Fri Jul 11, 2003 2:44 pm

Jason Kidd and Alonzo Morning reportedly are working together a la Gary Payton/Karl Malone... Where one ends up, the other will follow.

Possible destinations: Spurs, Mavs...

Also, Howard seems to only be waiting for the 16th of July to announce he's goin' to the Wolves.

I only know 2 things:

- The West will rule this year... They will destroy... Come to think about it guys, the East has no PF's beyond O'Neal and Martin!

- Sacramento's windows is slowly closing...

I think if the Spurs picked up Mourning and Kidd, we could safely assume a rematch with the Lakers in the Western Finals is quite likely.

That's a good point (bringing up the young ones), maybe Stoudemire comes back with a superstar style game and get the Suns in the track as well, last year I would say the only team who took the Spurs to the Max were the Suns, and that's cause a youngster and a terrific PG who would easily take Kidd in a one on one match. If the Suns get a good Center, and Stoudemire keeps developing, they might be in the race as well.

ya, in nba daily, kidd and mourning are going to the nets, it will be rematch between lakers and nets in finals

Lakers Line Up
C-Shaq
PF-Karl Malone
SF-Devean George
SG- Kobe Bryant
PG- Gary Payton

Nets Line-up
C-Mourning
PF-Kenyon Martin
SF-Richard Jefferson
SG- Kerry Kittles
PG- Jason Kidd

that would be a 6 games series for the lakers to win 4-2

Seems the Spurs and Mavs are both going to miss out. Malone is going to the Lakers, Mourning is going to the Nets while Kidd is staying and Jermaine O'Neal will likely remain a Pacer.

The Kings didn't have much to spend on free agents though, nor were they ever in the running to land any of the top veteran free agents.
