The 2010 Draft is coming up in a little over 2 months, and it's time someone posted a topic about it. I'll ask a question to get it started: If the Nets win the draft lottery, do you think they'll pick John Wall? I mean, they already have Devin Harris, but I guess they use Wall as a back-up.

i hope that nets won't get the no.1 pick.. nets, minnesota and kings are the three teams with high chances coming the lottery pick. i hope that kings will grab it. Wall + Evans will be a great duo to watch.

IMHO, the Nets should pick Evan Turner. They already have a fine point guard in Devin Harris, but they really lack a consistent player at the SG-SF position. Turner is really versatile and can play a lot of positions, he should be a good fit that will be able to fill in the void for the Nets.

I think John Wall has more upsides than Turner, but as Modifly said, the Nets need Turner more than Wall. This will be interesting if the Nets get #1.

If the Nets get the #1 pick then they will take John Wall. I love Turner, but the Nets will want to put bums in seats so they'll take Wall & try & deal Harris at some point. If the right deal didn't come along straight away then they might play a 3 guard rotation (Wall, Harris & Lee).

I've got a sneaking suspicion that Turner will end up in Utah & turn the Jazz into an elite team out West

I think a more interesting question than the Nets one is if the Jazz (with Knicks' pick) win the lottery, who do they take? I think definitely not John Wall, which leaves it between Turner & Cousins. I think Turner is their guy & makes more sense for Jazz. It's a real shame that Jazz gave away Maynor & Brewer as they would've been a lot deeper with those 2 guys in the rotation.

I don't even get the John Wall hype. DeMarcus Cousins was the best player on that Kentucky team (and should be the no-brainer #1). Would be interesting to see if Utah lands a top 3 pick. With or without Boozer, they would be awesome with an Evan Turner or DeMarcus Cousins.

Lamrock I totally agree that John Wall isn't the best player joining the draft, Evan Turner is. The only reason he is hyped is because of his speed and passing ability. Back to the subject, if I were the Nets, I would take either Turner or Cousins, Cousins could replace Yi Jianlian.

I probably watched over half of Kentucky's games and I don't disagree that Cousins' is arguably top-3 talent, but I definitely think Wall is the #1 pick (unless you're NOH or the Jazz). His shooting isn't as bad as ESPN talking heads make it out to be, I think he's better than Derrick Rose was coming out of Memphis two years ago.

If a team chose DeMarcus Cousins over Wall I think they would regret that in the long run. I seem to remember Bill Simmons saying Cousins is the kind of player you want to have 4 years from now, when he finally has all the immaturity and shitty attitude out of the way, which I agree with for the most part.

Since the Pistons were so wonderful this year, I'm hoping they luck into a top-3 pick. Favors, Cousins, Wall, or Turner would all be immediate upgrades. I'm probably dreaming though... chances are they get the sixth pick and draft Cole Aldrich (not bad... but not top six) or Rook Aminu. But hey, I'm pretty sure the Bulls' had the same odds going into the Lottery two years ago and they walked away with the #1 pick, maybe the basketball gods will throw the Pistons a bone now.

Even though I'm not a Pistons fan, that would be nice for the Pistons to be able to pick up the #1 pick. The Pistons had it all before, they were once able to contend for NBA championships. Now, they are contenders for one of the worst teams in the NBA.

i remember the 2003 draft where the Pistons had #2 pick and drafted ----- skipped Bosh, Wade, Anthony.

Aldrich is alright (I wouldn't mind him on a lot of teams really) but he's not the player for the Pistons. I think they HAVE to get Cousins. He's the best player in college basketball and he doesn't even have his game fully together. Can anyone ruin his career like the Pistons? Can anyone use him like the Pistons? I'm not sure the answer isn't no to either.

I absolutely love the top 6-8 for this draft. Wall, Turner, Cousins, Favors, Johnson, Aminu, Monroe - I think whoever gets them are going to be pretty satisfied, and the guys behind them obviously have a solid chance of being good as well.

Just wondering...thoughts on Willie Warren, Eric Bledsoe and Avery Bradley? All short(ish) guards who've seen pretty major stock drops. Are Bradley and Warren declaring? And where would they go? I know Warren went down with a season-ending injury and of course Bradley played in a Longhorns team that just collapsed (even for a paper tiger relying on depth). But I dunno, I suppose I'm a sucker for those types of guards.

Warren has first round talent, but from the start of the season to the end his game really got exposed. He was legit last year with Griffin around, but it was apparent that he isn't the kind of guy that will carry a team (if not in college definitely not in the pros). I think he could be a great value guy in round two though, super skilled.

Bledsoe should have stayed in school IMO, he's a very talented player who is a lot like Russell Westbrook in some ways, but he still needs to work on his game. I think the weak PG class this year was the reason he left. He could have stayed at UK next year and formed a leet duo with Brandon Knight.

Bradley is a different guy. He started off the season so strong, but it seemed like he really tailed off as the season went on. I think he's a lot like Jeff Teague, but with much more upside. He's good enough to be a first round pick, I could see the Lakers picking him late in round one if he's there and kind of bringing him along slowly to replace Fisher/be the perimeter scorer off the bench that they've never really had.

Whatever happened to Darko? The Grizzlies also did that this season, they passed on Tyreke, Stephen, and Jennings.

I think Stuckey and Wall can co-exist, Stuckey is a lot better at SG than PG, and they'd be able to get into the lane at will.

If one or both (Tayshaun and Rip) are Pistons next year I'll be surprised. Tayshaun probably won't be there, he's that expiring contract who can actually help a contender. Cousins and Ben would be a finely tuned rebounding machine, but I honestly think if they don't get him or Favors they're going BPA (who doesn't play SF) and they'll throw their mid-level exception at Brendan Haywood or someone else that doesn't address the problems.
