Acie Law is defintely getting around .. I didn't even know he was in Charlotte, thought he was still with the Warriors.

Hey, I don't like this at all. Chicago shouldn't be giving up Tyrus Thomas to a playoff race competitor. Oh well... it's not like neither will survive a first round but still...

Anyways, I like this for Tyrus Thomas. He'll get good amount of playing time and share of ball usage in Charlotte and perhaps, I overrate Thomas.

The Bulls have now given two of their important role players to teams that are fighting for the Playoffs with them. I wouldn't be surprised now, if the Bobcats and Bucks make the Playoffs and the Bulls would be the team out, as I mentioned in the Salmons trade topic.

Would you rather get a low seed and be swept in the first round of the playoffs or miss out and move up at least a half-dozen spots and get a decent lottery pick?

I don't hate this for Chicago in the short-term.

Flip Murray > Devin Brown
Acie Law > Jannero Pargo
First round pick from a likely mediocre team > a kick in the teeth.

The back-court that was pretty badly damaged in the Salmons trade has been partly re-strengthened. Hakeem Warrick is going to be doing pretty much what Tyrus Thomas was doing anyway, just with less whining and less awesome shot-blocking.

I agree, it kind of balances out the further thinning of the ranks at shooting guard caused by the Salmons trade. So long as they can maintain and overachieve a little they can still make the Playoffs, which I still think they need to do if they want to make a strong bid for a noteworthy free agent. Murray and Law are expiring contracts so they needn't have to stick around beyond the end of the season, so the Bulls don't lose that flexibility they would've had by letting Thomas go. It's alright, I'm not sure they would've been able to get too much more in exchange for Thomas anyway.

i fully expect Tyrus Thomas to go bonkers.. posting lines like 15pts/15 rebs/6 blocks/4 steal games in his first few games. then he'll go revert back to thinking he's Lebron James and chuck up a bunch of jumpers/try and play point forward

but i want to see Thomas succeed. just doesn't seem like he has the basketball smarts to be better then an energy guy off the bench on a good team

Personally i really liked Thomas.Good luck on his future career.
So in conclusion Bulls gave a SG/SF and a PF for 2 SGs and 2 PFs.
It's quantity instead of quality?

Perhaps, but probably more about expiring contracts and moving someone who had some friction with the coach.

From what I read, Tyrus had an impressive debut for the Bobcats. I really hope he can make something of himself, he seems to have a lot of potential.

He's taken a few subtle jabs at Vinny Del Negro, which I guess was to be expected and arguably not completely out of line. Still, hopefully he doesn't let that weigh him down and gets on with his career, it's just a shame things ultimately didn't work out in Chicago (I'm growing weary of saying that, too). Hopefully he finds success elsewhere, be it Charlotte or somewhere else beyond this season.
