Trevor Ariza is beasting this year(Ramble)

LA is going to miss Ariza .He's averaging 23 points and scored 33 on Portland. This is going to be his breakout year. NO body thought he could do so well as the #1 option on a team. The "trade" between LA and HOU is the equivalent to the Devin Harris/Jason Kidd trade. Artest can play good d, but he doesn't have the same energy and you won't see Artest making game winning steals in the plaoffs[/end rant]
Allen Iverson passing on family values:

A.I.: son, what you doing there?
A.I.'s son: practicing my math for my test tommorow
A.I: practice? practice? we talkin' 'bout practice. not the test - practice. we talkin' 'bout practice. not the test, not the test - practice.

Artest wasn't in LA to score anyway. He was there to provide defense and toughness. Ariza on the other hand is much younger than Artest and still has a lot of rooms to grow. Artest wont get any better. Deep inside I'm hoping that this will be Ariza's breakout year, but on the outside I'm trying not to make any judgment after seeing him play in only 3 games. True, he have been solid so far but these kind of things requires the whole season to judge. Ariza will get plenty of opportunities this year with both Yao and McGrady out. He and Brooks are the two first scoring options for the Rockets and this will probably be the biggest reason as to why his scoring averages will go up from 9 ppg to 20 ppg.

On another note, can I request for a new Houston Rockets thread or should I just grave-dig the old one up?

Tracy's not going to be back for awhile at least for another month or so I really hope to see him playing well so he'll continue getting shots even after T-mac comes back.

His scoring and assist numbers are up and he's shooting the ball fairly well but aside from that his numbers are about the same as last year, in some cases worse. Still, it's looking like he might be able to carry the load as the main option and I'd say he'll firmly establish himself as an MIP candidate before the season is through.

They lost their top three leading scorers last year to injury and free agency, so its not that hard to believe. His averages will level off though - especially when McGrady returns.

But still it looks like a bright future for Ariza playing like a superstar this first two games, I was shocked he can be the primary scorer...miss him in L.A :D :D :D

To be fair they've played Chicago, New York and Indiana. My old under 16's rep team would probably go 2-1 at least against those teams.

Small text to signify that I understand the post was meant sarcastically

He's sure launched quite a number of 3s in four games hes played so far. Though he is hitting them at a high percentage. Also looking a bit careless with the ball (3.5 TOPG).

He learning his role
Its gonna take him a while to lower his turnovers and make posessions more efficient
Plus the only post players he can only dish to is Scola and Landry, but they are sure no Yao combined

He had his moments against the Lakers including that three to send the game into OT, but when it was all said and done he shot a rather unimpressive 5/21 from the field. Having watched the game, I'm surprised it was as good as that as it really wasn't his night, save for that one clutch basket. As far as having the confidence to put the ball up, he's certainly got that but he's still not quite at the level where I'd say he's a beast or a bonafide All-Star just yet.
