Nothing to discuss? Not really surprising? Or intriguing?

Portland locking up their players this year. Good for them to keep their young core together.

Aldridge is probably my least favorite Blazer. Doesn't play defense and hasn't really improved since his rookie year. Wish we had Millsap

I feel the same way as it pertains to the Bulls. Can't fault Utah for holding onto him.

I think it's a decent contract for a player of Aldridge's talents. I'm still unsure which I would preferred the Bulls to do, keep him or go with Tyrus Thomas as they elected to do. Defensively I prefer Thomas, but Aldridge would be a more capable scorer in the frontcourt, even if he isn't a "post presence" per se.

I dont know what should be bad about Aldridge. He fits perfectly into Portland's game. Thomas may have some nasty chase down blocks here and there but that alone does not make him a good defender. Hes still not a a really good post defender. On offense Aldridge has way more weapons from midrange to turn arounds on the low block. As long as they have Roy Aldridge is a perfect side kick.

I'd suggest Thomas is the better rebounder as well, but no question Aldridge is the more polished player at the offensive end.

And barring a major coup in the 2010 free agent sweepstakes, most likely next season too.
