NBA Summerleague 2009

Wed Jul 15, 2009 12:10 am

Who has impressed you the most?

For the rookies, my list would be Stephen Curry, Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans and Chase Budinger.

I expected Griffin to have a good debut. 27 and 12 is even better then I thought...

But also Joey Dorsey and Adam Morrison have played great. Dorsey is a rebounding machine and Morrison has shot well and scored almost 20 every night.

Joey Dorsey is a beast on the glass. Dorsey and Budinger impresses me the most thus far partly because they're a Rockets, but their game also speaks for themselves. (Y)

didn't that flamer from UNC have a good debut in the Orlando league?

You mean Hansbrough?

Forgot about him. He was really impressive. Shooting really well.

Also, Ryan Anderson was great in the Orlando league.

Robin Lopez had a good game. 24 and 16 i think he had

I was impressed with Beaubois, Robin Lopez, Ryan Anderson, James Harden, maybe Hansbrough and Morrison too. Griffin didn't show anything surprising, same thing with Evans.

So you expected him to get 27 and 12 all along? I wasn't expecting that, I always thought that he's going to be a bust.

Yes, I expected that (actually a bit higher number of rebounds). That's just a Summer League anyway. The real competition is ahead.

Spurs DeJuan Blair debute was also very good. 22 minutes, 13 points, 10 rebounds, one steal. Solid game. Spurs don't need him to be scorer. We need Blair's rebounds. I think he will be top notch player in NBA.

Yeah, Blair was good too. I still don't get it why his stocks fell so low during the draft and why Cavs passed him to draft Eyenga. Another steal by the Spurs.

I think it was because of his earlier knee problems. But Blair said that problems are over.

I was impressed that I am watching nba summer league.

I need to change my statement. I wish it was always summer league. The commentary is so much more interesting than regular season. And no one trying to put themselves over. Awesome.

The Pacers or Magic aren't participating in the Summer league? :?

Anyway, Quincy Douby has been great just like he was last year. And DeMar DeRozan is looking promising. As for the non-Raptors, Stephen Curry and Tyreke Evans have been pretty impressive thus far. But that's pretty much all I've seen via highlights.

No clue which "flamer" from UNC you're reffering to, but I guess they must've done pretty well. Considering UNC guys can do this:

That reminds me, when will Kyle Singler enter the draft?

Finally, someone got a triple double. Ian Mahinmi today with 12 points 16 rebounds and 10 fouls. Anthony Randolph came close on day one (and dropped 42 today) and Taj Gibson did today.

The Orlando Summer League.

Ahh alright. I'm guessing there can only be 21 or 22 teams in the other summer league?
Modifly wrote:That reminds me, when will Kyle Singler enter the draft?

nbadraft.net has him in the 2011 mock draft, so that might answer your question.

There's no rule as to how many teams, all of them could participate. Some don't see it worth the cost, others pick the Orlando one because of the location. (Notice it was mostly Eastern teams in Orlando except for the Thunder who are at both.) The Jazz are pissed at the NBA for "killing" the Rocky Mountain Revue so they went to the Orlando one only.

Anthony Randolph is going to win Summer league MVP. Its unfair to have a superstar playing against all those rookies and scrubs.

That's why Amir can't even be assed enough to try.

Randolph is disappointed about the game, as he only had 3 rebounds. But he should win Summer League MVP.

Austin Daye of the Pistons had a good statline the other day : 11 points, 11 rebounds, 8 fouls, 8 turnovers. Almost quadruple-double.
