I've always found people's obsession with team logos and uniforms kinda gay.

Representing yourself through a basketball team shows a lack of personality.

I'm not sure I understand this- the thread is about a sports team changing their logo. That is legitimate, if not totally exciting, news. Why exactly do we need to blast it?

No one is blasting it.
If only with Iguodala's cum stains.

So how would you represent yourself...?

I'll be a leading general for the whites in the race war.

An odd decision, teams have certainly gone for a new logo with a "retro feel" but completely reverting to their previous design is a little different.

I don't get it. Just because they changed back to their old logo doesn't mean they will be good again. Damn PR stunt.
The only thing that logo will look good is if they have players named Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley on their current roster. Heck even add in Derrick Coleman, Shawn Bradley, and Clarence Weatherspoon.

No love for Greg Graham?
Wed Jun 24, 2009 9:09 pm
I blame him for the departure of Shawn Bradley.
Wed Jun 24, 2009 9:17 pm
Then I guess I shouldn't bring up Tim Perry.

Who's Greg Graham?

A former NBA player who spent time with the Sixers in the 90s.

He's okay. Sir Charles wasn't happy with management then and wanted to be traded anyway.
But losing someone who's named "The Deathstick" is just unimaginable. With a nick like Deathstick you know he's going to be badass.

Mind you, without the Shawn Bradley trade, Derrick Coleman wouldn't have been a Sixer.
Wed Jun 24, 2009 9:30 pm
I just consider it as Shawn Bradley's way of keeping the franchise in good hands. He loves the Sixers, even if it means being traded so the team could be good and happy.

It's not a bad thing. Their previous logo is hideous and outdated with the colors and swooshes. Going back to something that has history with a decent simple design is a better approach.
In case anyone was wondering, the "new" logo is actually slightly modified if inspected closely, but it's not noticeable.
The color and the "6" has been tweaked.

Some might say about the design they've gone back to, though I'd call it a classic. I liked the logos they had from 1997 through last year though.

Looks like the primary logo will be
a little different.

Not too sure about that one. A little
too retro.

Hmm.. Interesting. It looks a lot like a broken image link. I wonder if there's a larger image of that version.
Edit: Found it.
