Is it a foul to throw the ball intentionally against another player's face in basketball?
Wed Jun 17, 2009 11:27 pm
Intentional !
Shiish .
Intentional , d'uh !?
Wed Jun 17, 2009 11:30 pm
Flagrant, not intentional.

You didn't get my point .

Where ?
Kindly post it .

Intentional isn't the same as intentionally.
Wed Jun 17, 2009 11:56 pm
I still don't get it .
My Point :

- He intentionally threw the ball , Technical Foul
- Right to the Face , Flagrant 2 , Fine and maybe won't play for at least 15 games .
- When I said , Intentional , d'uh . . . It means use your damn brain . ( fais[a )

Ive Never heard or seen a ref call a foul when someone throws the ball intentionallly to the opponents face..Maybe it can be considered as a flagrant foul

I think I'll move this to NBA Talk. It's not an NBA topic, but not a General Topic either. What to do!

I'm confident that if that happened in an NBA game, a technical foul would be assessed.

And if the player is really guilty of throwing the ball intentionally to another player's face, he's more than likely to get ban too.

He'd probably get fined and he'd probably be labelled the biggest bitch in basketball.

Unless the player he threw the ball to is already the biggest bitch in basketball.

Not gonna happen , remember Artest ?
and don't tell me throwing a ball to a player's face is much heavier than smoking pot ( Chris Andersen ) .
You can't get banned by throwing a ball to player's face ( except if he's Joakim Noah )

you would have to prove it first, kinda like a flop. someone worth anything can nail someone in the face and make it look like a mistake. also how hard would the ball need to be thrown? you can hit other players by throwing the ball at them to save the ball from going out

May I request you to stop posting like that? It's annoying, for me anyway, and I doubt you're a 14 yr. old girl to converse like that.

If one who get's hit to a face and his nose starts bleeding, thrower should stay on court? That's very offensive move to do harm.Off the court immediately!

It would just be a technical and probably an ejection and fine. It doesn't matter if you throw the basketball at his face, or if you take off your shoe and throw it at his face. Either way its unsportsmanlike behavior.

Chris Anderson was not banned for smoking pot, if that was true we'd have a pretty empty NBA. Birdman got kicked out for multiple positive Cocaine tests.

Andersen prolly drinks GHB instead of gatorade.

I think it would be pretty easy to tell if a player throws the ball at another player's face out of anger and in an aggressive fashion. Depending on whether the situation escalated into something more I could see one game suspensions being handed out, but most certainly a technical foul and possibly an ejection, with a fine to follow.
Thu Jun 18, 2009 12:32 pm
In other words .
No kickouts .
No banning .
Just a suspension and a fine .
Case Closed .
Thu Jun 18, 2009 12:36 pm
Well, yes, I doubt anyone would be kicked out of the league over it unless the incident also involved a felony. I'm guessing that when Modifly said "ban", he was referring to a suspension rather than a lifetime ban from the NBA.

Now if you took the ball and bashed it in to someone's face, knocked them down and continued to assault them with the ball breaking their nose and knocking out teeth...

The Question was :

Don't take it too far .
Like what I said .
MikeMan™ wrote:Case Closed .
Well , if you want another story I'm okay with that .
About what you said .
IMO , I still don't think that he'll be banned or kickout'd out of the NBA .
and before he can do that , his opponents teammates already punched him .
