The Playoff Seeding is Bullshit

Postby Lamrock on Thu Apr 16, 2009 3:13 pm

Tonight, the Portland Trailblazers blew out the Denver Nuggets, to get a 54-28 record, tying the San Antonio Spurs. They won the season series 3-1, but though they would get homecourt advantage if the two teams met, San Antonio for some reason gets the higher seed.

Now the Blazers go from the Mavs in the first round, and a pretty likely path to the conference finals, to a hard series with Houston, and a guaranteed loss at the hands of the Lakers (if they make it that far).

Two perfectly terrible polls down the drain. (N)

You should be happy about that, Dallas swept Portland this season :P
Allen Iverson passing on family values:

A.I.: son, what you doing there?
A.I.'s son: practicing my math for my test tommorow
A.I: practice? practice? we talkin' 'bout practice. not the test - practice. we talkin' 'bout practice. not the test, not the test - practice.

Nevermind, I'm an idiot. I didn't notice that they were in a three-way tie with the Nuggets. Taking a closer look, Houston is a more favorable opponent than Dallas, but they also go from a very good chance of winning in the conference semis to almost certainly losing in 5 or 6 to the Lakers.
