In my opinion, I think the NBA crowds are way too soft.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qo3h-NmXDUPeople might say "It's a Family Show". Well maybe it shouldn't be a family show. I'm not even that old but I went to a Euro basketball game and a NBA game and I can't believe how quiet the NBA crowds were.

I don't think it has anything to do with being family entertainment, it's just cultural differences. On the other side of the coin, you don't get too many NBA related riots either.

The good old days of coin throwing. When I was a child, I thought the players were lucky when they were pelted with coins by the opposing crowd, more money me thinks then. Made me wonder why the crowd loves the opposing team as to throw them coins.

What with name change, shadowgrin. good thing i'm the only shadow in this forum though.
NBA fans are sophisticated compared to others, not soft. Golden State fans when they beat Dallas in playoffs were awesome. Fans are just fine they just need something bigger to get crazy about.

That's Señor Shiado Griniano to you.

Remember it before I slap you again.

Yeah the crowds are soft these days also . Whats with Celtics fans yelling MVP MVP MVP to Kobe ? Wjat with any team yelling at an opposing player call ing them mvp?
Tue Feb 24, 2009 2:46 am
Do you guys ever stop to think that it could just be Kobe/Laker fans opposed to Celtic fans?
Celtic fans know enough about the Laker Celtic history to chant MVP for him. Using your brain to find a logical explanation isn't that difficult, you know?
Tue Feb 24, 2009 7:35 am
Bottom line Cetics fans don't cheer for Lakers players thats not supposed to happen!

Thanks for completely missing my point.

Please put it in proper context. Those are murders, not riots in a game.
Tue Feb 24, 2009 9:25 am
just showing that the us has more murder than europe.
Tue Feb 24, 2009 10:36 am
We're Number One! We're Number One! We're Number One!
USA! USA! USA!

So you're implying that you're spamming?
Tue Feb 24, 2009 10:53 am
I was trying to make the point that europe has more riots and the us more murder.
so who is the more sophisticated culture is pretty much undecided.
I am spamming?

The question of sophistication was raised.....when?
Tue Feb 24, 2009 11:13 am
there was a mention of it in zanshadows post.
Tue Feb 24, 2009 11:21 am
He was talking about NBA fans. Not entire countries and/or continents.
Tue Feb 24, 2009 11:27 am
well there was no information available about the murder rate amongst nba fans. what I posted was the best I could find.
Tue Feb 24, 2009 11:54 am
No one said anything about murders amongst NBA fans. Not even zanshadows post. Since when was murder a part of measure for sophistication?
Tue Feb 24, 2009 11:59 am
I compared murder against riots to indicate that both cultures have unsophisticated sides to them.

This kinda isn't relevent to the subject if it doesn't involve basketball crowds.

Murders against riots for the measure of sophistication. Ok.

the discussion in this thread had evolved from nba crowds to cultural differences.

In the context of sports fans, not murders.
