All Star game - your thoughts?

+ O' Neal, Howard
- ballhog Bryant

and the BORING game in general. One of the most horrible All Star games I've seen.

I thought it was pretty enjoyable actually, especially the first half. The whole kobe and shaq thing was interesting, good entertainment for the league. Chris Paul played great, although i'm not suprised he didn't atleast tie MVP with kobe, with all the interest in the Kobe Shaq thing.

Horrible ASG ends horrible ASW. Proudly cast my vote for Shaq only for the NBA to latch Kobe to the award. No real standout statistical performances; everyone just seemed incompetent. Shaq was the only good part - I hope he makes it next year.

That give-n-go of Shaq and Chris Paul through the legs of Dwight was awesome. The ASG just proves that Diesel still has some left in the tank, he's motivated this year. Too bad Phoenix sucks this season thereby wasting a motivated and productive Shaq.

I was lmao during the pre-game show of the ASG. Gary Payton is damn silly making sounds doing a top ten countdown of plays. The Glove will make a good commentator, if only they can find a good partner to complement him like the team of Kenny, Charles, and Ernie.

Jabba FTW!

I should have watched that WWE PPV instead after the second half.

The second half was a letdown with the West running up the big lead but the first half was about as good as you can expect from an All-Star game, some actual defense being played (certainly not game seven of a playoff series tight but for an All-Star game, quite respectable) while the players still put on a show and had some fun out there. The scoreline preventing a competitive game down the stretch did make me feel a bit restless but it was enjoyable enough. I guess I must have lower standards when it comes to an All-Star game.

Damn! I missed first half but was able to watch latter part of the game in a bar. It seemed West had better ball movement and thought it was pretty cool in some ways, but overall, a boring contest.

I hope so. Shaq looks motivated and seems to be trying to get back to a better form. Not only for him, but AI as well. I hope both Shaq and AI are to have better days for the rest of the season. As much as they are motivated, their surroundings and situations don't look too shiny. If they got enough gas left in the tank, it sure will be fun to watch them.

It was a good game but I've seen better... If not for Shaq I wouldn't have enjoyed this game that much, his no look pass to Parker and the give-and-go between him and CP3 was entertaining..

Yeah I still think one of the most exciting things that happened during all-star weekend is Lebron entering hims elf into the Dunk Contest next year

Missed the game as usual. And I thought, when will the All-Star Weekend be back on the East?

Shaq isnt going to retire, his contract lasts until 2010... He just said that coz at his age, he might not put up All-Star numbers next season and it will be hard for him to get voted in the game...

It was a real pleasure as a fan of both O'Neal and Bryant to see the two together again...on (semi) good terms.

Just watching Kobe pass to Shaq and him finishing it off with a dunk...*sigh*, God knows how many more rings they could have shared.

The first half was fun to watch, nothing stood out much though. Shaq's between the legs was nice.

That was the most boring game of basketball I have ever seen. The arena could have been empty for all the noise the crowd didn't make ... they only woke up on the give and go with Paul and Shaq near the end of the third, but fell asleep again right afterwards. Sheesh ... I am so glad I didn't stay up last night to watch it. There were only 2 good scenes in the whole game ... 1 being the aformentioned give'n'go, which was really cool .. and 2 being Shaqs dance during the player introductions. The rest was crap.

For me as a Hornets fan it wasn't cool to see Paul NOT get the MVP again ... but in retrospect it was kinda obvious, that Shaq and Kobe would be the MVP, or at least one of them ... just as it was kinda obvious that the Lakers would end up in the finals last season somehow after that trade for Gasol, just to get Celtics - Lakers going again. David Stern can deny it all he wants ... but at least something in this league is fixed. If not the draft, than at least something meaningless like the All Star MVP.

What a snoozefest that weekend was. Dunk contest was cool .. but everything else was just utter crap.
