Belinelli Headed To The Nets?

Source
Warriors guard Marco Belinelli is close to being traded to the Nets, according to a source close to Belinelli.

The source claimed that talks were on going between the Warriors and Nets, but that the guard was made aware that a deal could transpire soon.

Sources close to the Nets would not confirm the rumors.

If true, I wouldn't be surprised if it's Sean Williams going the other way seeing how little time he's seen so far this season. The Nets could use another big man up front particularly if they're still actively trying to trade Al Harrington, Williams is still largely unproven but I could see the Warriors taking a chance on him.

Williams to Warriors does make a lot of sense....as long as Nets don't expect Belinelli to be the next coming of Drazen, they'll be fine....

Hopefully not. I'd say he has a good chance of knocking either Hayes or Hassell (more likely Hassell) out of the second unit but he'll still be stuck behind Vince Carter.

Looks like it would have been Williams or even Boone, but the Nets weren't interested. I can understand their reluctance to trade Boone given he's their starting centre but with the way Williams has fallen out of favour and continues to sit I'm surprised they weren't more open to the idea, injuries not withstanding. Perhaps he'll get another opportunity in New Jersey or they think they can get a better deal for him.

What's all this fuss about Belinelli. I'm seeing lots of posts and threads on this guy.
Cuz he seems like another soft shoot first european player to me.

Carter's not without his faults but let's see Belinelli prove himself before anyone established gets traded. In any case, it would appear he's not going to New Jersey.
