Officers were sent to the home of former New York Knicks president Isiah Thomas early Friday morning in response to a call that he had overdosed on sleeping pills, a source confirmed to CBS 2.

The source said Thomas, 47, was found semi-conscious when emergency units arrived. He was rushed to White Plains Hospital where he was treated for several hours before being released.
...
Police arrived at Thomas' home shortly after midnight in response to a 911 call from a cell phone and that Thomas' condition was being classified as an overdose.

According to the Daily News, police say the victim consumed "roughly 10 Lunesta sleeping pills."

Barry Watkins, vice president of communications for Madison Square Garden, told The Journal News newspaper, "Isiah is fine."

When the NY Post contacted Zeke at his house, he said it was his 17-year-old daughter who OD, not him. But the police report says otherwise, so who knows what's going on.

Whatever happened, he's reportedly fine which is good news. However badly he may have performed in his duties with the Knicks, I wouldn't wish that kind of depression (or if it was his daughter, that kind of worry and heartache) on anyone. If it was merely an accident, then he's certainly fortunate nothing worse happened.

Seems to be all going down hill for the guy. He used to be a good NBA anaylist on NBC you know? Always smiling and jovial; He was even a somewhat ok nba player.

the guy wakes up one day, realizes that in his life all he was ever good at was playing pro-ball... tries to off himself... sad... when most people don't even get to half where he got... sadder

Why couldn't he just have developed a gambling habit like Sir Charles... haha
