Patrick Ewing Jr. traded to the Knicks

It's nice to see the name Patrick Ewing back in New York but Ewing's son will always have to face his father's shadow. Just think of all the fans saying "his father would have made this shot". Pat Jr. will have a very difficult time throught his career unless he develops into an outstanding athlete.

A possible average of 5 PPG does not fit the name Patrick Ewing.

Fans and the media will hopefully give him his time and don't have his father in mind when he is on the court.

I wasn't going to post it, but if Patrick Ewing Jr can get a link, a veteran stud like Sean Marks can too :P

Good for him...but anyone every notice that the sons of great basketball players never measure up? That includes jordan's son.

I can't believe they even had the freaking rights to Frederic Weiss, the 7 footer Vince Carter dunked on 8 years ago (damn time flies) back in the Sydney Olympics  .

Kind of cool to see him in New York but his father's career does cast a huge shadow. The Knicks finally got something tangible out of picking Weis, too.

oh yeah. even kobes dad had more hops than even kobe

and how about mike bibby and his daddy.

But those players never had fathers with outstanding careers. I doubt you could put Jellybean Bryant in the same sentence with one of the best centers in the 90s.

Yeah, but Kobe is way better than his dad you little bitch before I kill you.

Jeez... with this and the Magloire signing, there could be some upsets so far as win totals go.

Don't forget Sean Marks to the Hornets, they're a gimme for the title now

i think ny's fans are one of the toughest fans to please. imho, one of the reason bringing ewing is to ease the tension between the team and the fans cuz some fans will support and show love to ewing what so ever in regards to the memory of pat ewing. nonetheless, i think the team will be regularly booed once again this year.

How are we (Knicks fans) the hardest to please?? All we ask for is a change in ownership and someone who actually thinks about the future instead of selling tickets. I think you'd be embarassed if your favorite team was in the knicks shoes. And p.s Patrick Ewing Jr. isnt even guaranteed to make the team, and no we won't be happy with anyone with the Ewing name, we would be happy with a Ewing kind of player.

i didn't say the hardest but definitely one of the most. and it's obvious it's not just me thinking that way. ultimately, how many times do u see ppl booing their own team for whatever the reason is. in ny, it happened like almost everytime knicks played fot awhile.

true, but i think he'll at least get a chance to prove himself on court regardless of skill lvl. and yeah everyone knows that he's only a big deal cuz he's patric ewing's son.

Zanshadow, have you been watching the Knicks over the past few years? They're a f-cking embarrassment, they have the worst owner in pro sports, and the last time they won a title I was twelve years old.

Real Knicks fans are passionate about our team, but we don't suffer B.S. There's been a lot of B.S. coming from this organization since Cablevision & the Dolans took over. We boo because they're giving the fans a sh!tty product for overpriced tickets, pure & simple. We want a team that brings it every night and actually pays attention to defense, like the 90s Knicks.

Hopefully things will change now that Isiah's gone and we have a GM who's qualified for the job. But I have no illusions - it'll take years to undo Zeke's damage.

when starbury, jared jeffries and jerome james. Maybe Randolph and Curry too. Knick fans should be able to take a collective sigh of relief.
