There's an idea for a poll if ever I've heard one. My personal favourite is the Mavericks, mainly because i like the word, maverick and use it a butt-load in my everyday life.

How will you judge the new name if WNBA,D-League,CBA,ABA etc never existed?

supersonics will forever be missed. the management really fucked up the franchise again by changing the name supersonics to thunder. hope this club becomes a joke and eventually seattle gets the sonics back.

gary, detlef, hawkins, kemp... i still remember those great sonics. those were the rare and last good days for the sonics i guess. sux ray couldn't save the sonics.

They probably would have kept the Sonics moniker if they could have, but if not for the agreement they struck with the city they might have had to honour their KeyArena lease and Bennett and co were obviously keen to get out of Seattle.

Oklahoma City Thunder...I can live with that. More so than the Oklahoma City Barons...that just sounds wack to me.

Although I wish they would call them the Oklahoma Thunder and take out the "City" since they will be playing some games here in Tulsa(i moved here some years ago) in our brand new BOK Center








and since the D-League Tulsa 66ers are here. Like how the Utah Jazz are, it's not the Salt Lake City Jazz, that way the whole state could here more involved.
