The New Jersey Nets have traded point guard Marcus Williams to the Golden State Warriors for a future first-round draft pick, sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday.

Nice, I just read earlier today that the Nets were looking to move him. Warriors certainly involved a lot of moves this year, whether it be them getting players or losing them.

Jing,
With the loss of Baron Davis (B-Diddy?), I think that the Warriors realized that they just had to roll up their sleeves and start rebuilding the team. It will be interesting to see how Maggette and Monta Ellis play as a tandem. I expect for Williams to probably be the primary backup PG to Ellis.

I wouldn't be suprised to see the Warriors use a line up of like Williams, Ellis, Maggette, Jackson, and Beidrins. That would be a good line-up for Nellie's up-tempo style of play. Marcus Williams can distribute the ball very well and there are a lot of ally-oops awaiting that line-up.

This represents a huge shift in power from East to West.

though williams is very far compared to BD, i think he could be a decent PG for the warriors..

It's called sarcasm Jessed3. Marcus Williams deal isn't big since Williams is not a big time player.

I think Marcus Williams has a chance to be a solid point guard still. He's got a lot of potential and never really got the minutes he needed to develop in New Jeresey.

Yeah, I always thought Marcus could eventually become a starting point guard. I'm surprised they didn't keep him.

Yeah I remember back in the 06 draft everyone was going nuts as to why a lottery projected pick like Williams was at the bottom end of the first round. I can kind of see why he was drafted so low now... But hey, it's not like he's had an ample amount of time to really show what he can do or develop his weaknesses.

Boom! The reasons for my first-round drafting of Devin Harris in fantasy continues.
