Richard Jefferson Traded To Bucks

Fri Jun 27, 2008 5:23 am

The New Jersey Nets and Milwaukee Bucks are on the verge of a trade that will send Richard Jefferson to the Bucks for forwards Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons, according to NBA front-office sources.

huh :|

Fri Jun 27, 2008 5:28 am

 :-o wow, that´s what I like, deals coming out of nowhere, btw how many years Simmons has left in his contract?

Fri Jun 27, 2008 5:31 am

Just like I did in my dynasty, kept only Carter. I hope they don't trade VC, though. Kind a surprising trade as well. New Jersey will now be filled by Chinese fans, which is kind a great. :P

His contract runs out 2010, so this was probaly a move for a 2010 free agent.
Jay-Z and LeBron

The Bucks are pretty decent now with Mo, Redd, RJ, C-Vill and Bogut in the starting line-up.

Fri Jun 27, 2008 5:52 am

NOOOO now Yi and Joe Alexander won't be able to converse and laugh at white people in Chinese anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess this is good because Yi finally gets out of cheese-country and to a much bigger market that also has a good amount of Asians (in NJ and New York)

Although, since Milwaukee now has Jefferson, they might be less inclined to draft Alexander because they are similar players. Now the Nets are expressing interest in Alexander if he falls to 10.

Too bad Yi is terrible at basketball.

I'm not bitter because he's Chinese, I mean come on I'm the resident Yao-homer. Yi Jianlian is not a good basketball player at the NBA level. AT ALL. He gets a quarter of his shots blocked. A QUARTER. A SEVEN FOOTER.

Yi is very skilled. I would take Yi over Bargnani.

I wouldn't take any of them. Both just terrible.

 Indiana and Toronto with a great trade that improves both teams... and now the Bucks get this amazing player for to mediocre players.
Don't forget Chicago and Miami with the two top picks.
East is going to be wild this year

Fri Jun 27, 2008 6:46 am

What the fuck? Just saw this on TV. I'm guessing the East is trying to make an impact for next year.

Fri Jun 27, 2008 7:08 am

Villanueva > Yi.

Finally Milwaukee can give him more minutes on the court.

Fri Jun 27, 2008 7:17 am

I wouldn't call Richard Jefferson an amazing player... He didn't play that great last season. I've heard constant complaints about how his lack of ball handling skills and lack of a good point guard has turned him into a player that has become overreliant on his jumper. I might be wrong, but that's what I heard. Bobby Simmons is a solid player that has yet to prove that he can stay healthy and contribute after his pay day and Yi isn't helping the Nets front court at all.

Richard Jefferson got it done last season, he was a solid consistent scorer for the Nets last season. I'd rather take RJ over VC, to be honest. Damn, this deal is very disappointing to me, as a Nets fan.

Awesome i am loving it. Great trade for the bucks. Welcome to Milwaukee Mr. Jefferson! :D

Fri Jun 27, 2008 8:29 am

cant believe the nets didnt get some kind of pick in this deal also

Fri Jun 27, 2008 9:01 am

wtf is nets doing

richard > yi, simmons

definitely a loser = nets

but should attract more china fans in town, so might be a winner in profit wise

damn... business menz

this is gay as aids.

not happy jan

Fri Jun 27, 2008 12:30 pm

Highly doubt this is going to make Carter happy.
Sensing a Chicago-NJ trade?

Fri Jun 27, 2008 12:43 pm

I can't believe they traded part of their forward glut just to get more back, even if the guys they got better are higher quality.

That said.

Another of these modern lopsided trades?

Bucks have five legit starters, but still don't have much of a bench. Pretty much the same problem they had coming into this last season. I don't see Redd being moved now. Why would you get Jefferson if you weren't trying to get better in the short term? I mean, outside of the endless pressure to send Yi to a big city.

They're rebuilding, first Kidd, now Jefferson, Carter next?
