I read that the Nets wants to have Melo in their roster
The package could include Jefferson, Marcus Williams and Marcus Camby
I know that we are almost in the finals but I read that and I think it could be important to bring it here.
Cheers

good luck getting melo and camby

Will the Nuggets then try to get Kerry Kittles and Keith Van Horn to unretire? Maybe send Iverson for Kidd?
Reassembling an old team worked for the Wizards and the 2001-02 Warriors after all!
It does seem odd that if the Nuggets decided Iverson and Anthony couldn't live together that Anthony is the one they'd dump.

That would work in a Mavs-Nuggets trade

Sauru, where do NBA news/rumors/etc. usually come from around here? A website with horrible design...people just read the headlines and summaries, never the stories linked to...
Anyway, original source?

It's true actually. The GM of the Nets is the old GM of the Nuggets, so obviously he's looking to bring in Melo.

Yeah i've been hearing these rumors for well over a week now and all i have to say is who do you have that is worth Melo? And secondly ima punch a hole in the wall if he does get traded
Thu May 22, 2008 5:33 pm
The nuggets are only interested in parting with carmelo if nets can get a high pick in the draft. the trade includes the nets' 1st round pick. people have been thinking "oh they're trading JR and bunch of no namers for melo and camby." nuggets would only go through with this if they can improve their roster by adding a super rookie (rose, beasely, mayo, etc)
now if i remember correctly, nets got 10 th pick... so one must believe this is not going to happen.

I would think trading the older players would come first before trading a 23 year old superstar...

People hear rumors and jump to such crazy conclusions. Amazing.

Anthony would likely be easier to move with his salary but that doesn't explain why the Nuggets would be eager to get rid of him and as you said, move forward with AI instead. If the Nuggets are actually considering trading Melo, perhaps it's a "character" issue stemming from his recent DUI and other such incidents but that doesn't seem all that likely either. Anyway, from that article you posted it sounds like the Nets are the ones pushing for the trade so it's questionable as to how seriously Denver would consider trading Melo at this time.

lets be honest, this would be insanely stupid on the nuggets part, wont ever happen
Fri May 23, 2008 5:14 am
No.. That really looks stupid.. What is the point of treadiing Carmelo and Camby..

Are Nuggets have no selary cap sapce

Or... it is just a stupid GM decition like in Lakers - Mephis Trade
Fri May 23, 2008 6:00 am
Before trading Melo i would trade Iverson, And Kenyon or Nene instead of Camby
Van Horn contract again in a trade?? He is my hero

GazuN wrote:stupid GM decition like in Lakers - Mephis Trade

That wasn't a stupid decision on either side. Memphis got cap space to rebuild a team that wasn't working, and the Lakers got Gasol, which turned them back into an elite team.
Anyway, I really don't see this happening. Carmelo + Camby for Marcus Williams, Jefferson, Van Horn and 1000 picks would be hilarious though.
Fri May 23, 2008 8:18 am
Hilarious like your polls? And Memphis probably should of gotten more in that deal then cap space and a very late 1st round draft pick and probably the same next year.

No, hilarious like keeping a link (that doesn't work btw) to a dynasty that has been dead nearly two years in your signature, and insulting other peoples'.
The Grizzlies could have gotten players in return, but LA offered a significant amount of cap space, along with a decent rookie and a pick or two. A perfect package for a rebuilding team.
*cue insulting comeback by Matthew, followed by trolling argument

It's worth noting Van Horn's contract expires so it would be another sign-and-trade situation. I wonder how long he's willing to stick around and help teams get deals done, reporting to a new team as required and then sitting around collecting a cheque. I remember reading that the NBA was considering measures against doing that but I guess it's complicated since a team is free to send a player home and elect never to play them, despite paying them a significant amount of money.

Van Horn is da shi#.... all he does is sit at home and cash 5 mil annually

Lmao yeah good call

He's probably got the easiest job of any retired NBA player. I wonder how long the NBA would allow it and how long Van Horn would be willing to go through with it.
