According to
this report, the Bulls could be close to a deal with Mike D'Antoni but it's
been suggested that the two sides haven't come to an agreement on money and D'Antoni could end up with the Knicks instead. Both teams could do a lot worse, though it begs the question as to where Mark Jackson fits in since he's been linked to both vacancies as well. Perhaps he'll end up taking whichever job D'Antoni doesn't.

D'Antoni would be better off taking the job in Chicago...the East isn't as hard as the West in the sense that although the Suns failed to get out of the conference finals with the run n' gun, the Bulls might fare better. New York is a dead roster until "Isiah's team" of overpaid stars all expire, which will take several years.

I'd still prefer Avery Johnson coaching the Bulls.

I don't think the job is open but I think Toronto would be a good fit for D'Antoni's system. A lot of 3 point bombers and a young big man who's quick enough to run up and down the floor.

Didn't Bryan Colangelo stand by Sam Mitchell after the Raptors were eliminated and express support for him coming back next year? In any event, Sam Mitchell is still coaching the Raptors at the time of writing so unless there's a change of plan there's no vacancy for D'Antoni in Toronto at this time.

I agree, Toronto would be great fit for sure....a Phoenix lite but out East....makes a lot of sense....

I was watching the Orlando Detroit game and they said that D'Antoni is the new coach of the Knicks! OMG!

It is now on the NBA website...
Now thinking on the Suns... who is going to be the next Suns coach
Any name?

Who cares? No need to follow the Suns anymore. I might pay more attention to Knicks though, just to see how their roster shapes up. Might have to start a Knicks' 2k8 Association to try to run an uptempo style. First thing I'll do is fire Isiah

Yeah, sure...
In this thread we're talking about the coaches so it cares
In don't think that Avery Johnson will be in Phx... and Isiah will not coach again ever
It must be offensive minded... but with Iavaroni again in the staff!

Title edited.
With Skiles' contract still on the books, the Bulls probably weren't keen to match an offer of $6 million per year though it could just be that D'Antoni ultimately decided New York was the more attractive option.

So Walsh went and hired a coach who doesn't stress defense. Great, just what this team needs.
Knicks continue to do things ass-backwards, no matter who's in charge.

D'Antoni can reunite with Q-Rich and Marbury.

From what I've read, it seems like most Knicks' fans aren't happy with hiring D'Antoni....should be interesting to see how they go....fortunately they're out in East, so they can compete for low seed in playoffs if everything falls into place....might take another year though....

The Knicks are trying to resolve a players problem with a new coach...
I Think that hiring D'Antoni isn't a great move... He is a good coach but the team is just... well... xD
And they are still paying Larry Brown's contract as i read i don't remember where...
At first the team needs a shake up, they must trade at least 5 or 6 names, sack Marbury, trade Jeffreys, Q or Crawford...

I think the move that needs to be made over any...is the ditching of Marbuy

But what GM(besides Isiah) would be dumb enough to take on those ridiculous contracts?

Exactly...no one...D'Antoni kinda put himself in a no win situation till those fat contracts and fat players (Curry & Randolph) are gone

Marbs expires after next season. Fatty Curry on the other hand...

24 million dollars over 4 years is a win win situation.

According to websites (hoopshype & realGM) D'Antoni will try to get Diaw and Barbosa in NY and send Marbury and Zach away.
Next starting 5
Curry
Lee
Diaw
Barbosa
crawford
looks good so far
