Source.
Not totally surprising, but I would have picked CP3.
Sat May 03, 2008 1:41 pm
Why would you have voted for Paul?
Sat May 03, 2008 1:42 pm
His stats were better in my view, and I personally believe that Kobe's supporting cast is superior.

I don't like Kobe either.
Not totally surprising as Lamrock said. I don't know what Pauls needs to do to be the MVP.

I actually do like Kobe. More than Paul even. Doesn't mean I'm going to be biased and say Kobe should be MVP because I like him.

Probably have a better season? Prove he can lead a team that wasn't essentially injury free? Lead his team to the best record in the conference?
Chris Paul is a equally deserving candidate, but there can be only one MVP, Gohornet, and what makes Paul the definite MVP instead of Kobe.
Sat May 03, 2008 2:27 pm
GoHornets has nothing to add to the conversation. He does not know what he is talking about. Paul could be averaging 12 turnovers, but he is a Hornets "fan".
Sat May 03, 2008 2:35 pm
many Kobe haters
but CP3 can be MVP next season or many Bron-Bron
Sat May 03, 2008 2:45 pm
There is only one Kobe hater in this topic, and he doesn't know what he is talking about.
Sat May 03, 2008 5:54 pm
Finally. It was a no brainer but i wouldn't have been surprised if CP3 won it.
Sat May 03, 2008 9:02 pm
Nice..

I am happy now

But i wanna say (to all this peoples that think - Kobe don't deserve the award) Guy that is Individual Award, But it also team award. Whole lakers team helped to Kobe to take it.. And without them i am sure that KB won't take anything.. (BUt with them-The results are clear |Best record in the wild west and Complete sweap of Denver|

Kobe deserves it...plain and simple. Cp3 will have his turn after lebron...its a longevity and popularity contest just as much as it is a performace contest.
Sun May 04, 2008 1:43 am
Could have gone with either Paul or Kobe...I'm guessing the tiebreaker with the voters was
1. Lakers better record
2. lifetime achievement vote!
Well deserved though
Sun May 04, 2008 7:02 am
Could have went any way IMO. The Lakers finished first, which could have affected some voters opinion.
My message to the Bron' and CP3 fans: RELAX
Kobe finally got his due. Bron' will most likely get his next and then CP3.

Because so many people here are freaking out about CP or LeBron not winning.

Let the guy take it this year.
What I said from the start of this Paul Vs. Kobe battle for MVP was which ever team came on top of the conference would take it, which is Kobe.
Asides from that factor, it's about time for him to win at least one in his career.
He done alot for the team this year.
Like everyone else said, Paul and Bron got alot of years ahead of them for MVP.
Sun May 04, 2008 9:13 am
Like I said in the MIP thread, the only people who care about who wins the awards are the people who think they still mean something about basketball.
Sun May 04, 2008 10:58 am
I didn't mean it was unfair that Bryant won the MVP.
I just was remarking Paul's bad luck. It's his best year, he's a MVP candidate, but New Orleans lost two games in a row in the final three games of the season and Los Angeles won the West Conference.
I'm agree with:

career

kobe won cause he does not have a mvp yet and paul is young. does he deserve it? sure he does, they both do. in a situation like this you know the nba will give it to the vet who never won one and who probably already should have had one, over the young guy
Sun May 04, 2008 11:25 am
The NBA doesn't pick the award winners. The media does.
Sun May 04, 2008 3:04 pm
It will be interesting to see if Kobe's won it in a landslide or if it was a close race between him and Paul and whether LeBron or KG got a significant amount of votes. I thought LeBron had a decent case this year, though like most I picked Kobe to end up winning it in the awards thread.
Mon May 05, 2008 5:36 am
fck kobe haters.
Kobe deserved it.

Not that much so. I don't think I would trade Chandler, West, Pargo and Peja for Gasol, Odom, Sasha and Walton.

Translation: I do not like Kobe because I want to be cool. Younger kids don't know Paul and I will sound intelligent in front of them.
