Official, DEETROIT Won vs Philly, 2.0 between DET and ORL.

Picking Orlando in 7.

I'll up a poll when the server is fixed.

Poll added. I left off Magic in 4 since that's no longer a possibility.

I'd like to see the Magic advance and I thought that might be a stronger possibility with the way the Pistons didn't completely dominate the Sixers as most of us expected, but it's tough to pick against Detroit, especially with the way they won the first game. Pistons in six.

Pistons in 5 - calculating in the fact they will take at least 1 game off.

Magic's backcourt is just shithouse - no match at all for ours. Sheed pretty much owns Dwight (as much as is possible anyway) so thats a wash.

If flip can keep using his rotations like he did in G1 then it could be a quick series! Now onto face Atlanta in the east finals...

Damn, looks like Detroit learned from Game 1 vs. Philly and kicked the Magic's ass. Detroit in 6. Magic will win one at home, and steal one in the Palace because Detroit will lay off them.

my thoughts exactly.

b4 the series started, i was scared of how D12 had been playing, but our D took care of him quite well...i have a feeling the next game will be closer tho, cuz orlando shot horrible from 3 yesterday, and they'll bounce back from that.

Looks like another war of words is brewing. At least this time, the team doing the talking drew first blood with a blowout victory.

Exactly why the NBA needs to install some sort of a challenge system. Absolutely ridiculous that such an important call could not be reviewed with a timer on replay. It's these things that weaken the league - all these mistakes and wrong calls that completely decide the game. If I'm the Magic I'm filing a complaint right this instant even thought it won't do anything.

“Our instant replay rule does not account for this action,” NBA spokesman Tim Frank said via email Monday night. “There was not a trigger to permit use of the (television) screen to view clock.”

Seems like something that should be reviewed this offseason ready for next year. The purpose of the instant replay rule was to make definitive rules and eliminate the need for guesswork on the part of the officials when it comes to the clock, so there should be a procedure in the event of equipment failure.

Refs told Van Gundy they estimated the play took 4.6 seconds. When Billups shot at like 5.2 or 5.3. What a joke.

Yeah and after that counting the time it takes for the ball to leave his hands, sail through the air and go through the basket and they STILL put 0.5 seconds on the clock? ARE U F'ING KIDDING ME?

I can't comment on any other calls but as far as the clock issue's concerned that's more the rules than the referees. If the rules allowed them to consult the television replay with the aid of a stopwatch then they could have made an accurate ruling.

yeah this just goes to show that they need to have some kind of replay system, some kind of challenge or something for coaches

The NBA has admitted that Billups' three shouldn't have counted but defended the decision since it was consistent with the rules that are currently in place. It's good to hear that situations like this one will be discussed by the Competition Committee along with other proposed expansions to the instant replay rules, hopefully something good comes out of that.

Meanwhile, the Magic won Game 3 in a blowout to make it 2-1 while the Pistons lost Billups with a right hamstring strain. That might open the door for Orlando if he has to sit or can't be at 100% the rest of the series.
