No offense, but I don't think every player that ever has been in the NBA needs a personal thread to find out "where he's at now".

He basically became a 10 day contract/replacing an injured player type of guy. I don't know if he's still playing anywhere, but he hasn't officially retired as far as I know. There's just some new guys doing what he was doing, bouncing around the league on non-guaranteed contracts as third string reserves, so he probably hasn't garnered any interest.

but does anyone know how he became so bad??? what happent to him?? does anyone have any more details?

Like I said, an influx of new talent basically made him obselete (veterans are more expensive than younger players). I don't think he became a terrible player, though age/wear and tear probably took away some of his agility, quickness and stamina. Maybe teams just weren't interested in him because of his style of play/asking price.

There isn't always a concrete answer as to why veterans like Sherman Douglas fade out of the league without fanfare, but it's usually a mixture of the reasons I suggested above.

i may be wrong but I think he got injured (at knee) so that he lost a lot in quickness, stamina and athletic.

I agree, why don't we make a general nba thread where they are not and ask Andrew to stick it, . That would work. Everytime someone has a player to ask for, they just have to post there,. I would ask the same for Mookie Blaylock but I know the guy couldn't do much after the injuries just like Sherman so I know both of them should be hunting or fishing somewhere in the mountains.

According to the New York Times newspaper (31/02/2003), there have been reports of a Sherman Douglas sighting in the Rucker Park. He was playing 2-on-2, along with Yinka Dare, against Harold Miner and Darrick Martin.

NYT reported that if one would like to attend the Master's Clinic, as the event was called, one would have to pay one thousand dollars.

That's not a bad idea, but you can guarantee as soon as I do that, interest in former NBA players will cease. I'd do it if people would utilise the thread though. :)
