Van Gundy To Retire?

I have never liked Van Gundy, and I wouldn't mond a new coach in Houston at all. I need to see TMac in the second round soon

I wouldn't be all that surprised if he resigns (or is relieved of his duties), though I'm skeptical of any rumours put forth by Peter Vecsey.

Van Gundy was never right for the Rockets, his offense really limits what the team should be doing as far as T-Mac & Yao.

What should the team be doing as far as Tmac and Yao?
A lot of people keep saying how Mcgrady should just execute and be on the finishing end of things... does this mean running him off screens? Wouldn't he end up shooting semi open jumpers?

Yao and Mcgrady pick & roll is executed sometimes but i see Yao better as the 3rd man flashing to the post and receiving the ball, and have Hayes (more athletic and aggressive player doing the pick for Tmac)

Van Gundy is already doing that..

I believe every1 agrees Houston shouldn't be a running team.. I don't think half the guys can finish half contested layups full speed (nor can they dunk) Luthur Head, Alston can't dunk in that situation, Snyder got horrible footwork and body control. Hayes is alright, Howard is too slow and can't dribble, Yao is a LITTLe slow..

I'll like to see more of Yao and Mcgrady passing like they're in a triangle, i also like how Jazz executed, with the screen and rolls and slips and everything..

Is Yao suppose to be playing in the mid/high post facing the basket like how Francis and him used to do? I felt Yao was good enough to hit the jumper from up to 20 feet out.. This will really draw trouble for his defenders..

I don't see how anything works, Houstons got 1 creator, and 1 post player and some stand still 3 point shooters.. The best would be either get the creator in pick and roll situations ( which Jeff does ) or posting up Yao ( which he does as well )

Garnett must get out of Minny and transfer too Houston... And we can see the Rockets with KG and TMAC together.

I don't believe the first round loss can be all attributed to Van Gundy. I think the Rockets need a legitimate power forward. Juwan Howard isn't cutting it.

chucky hayes playin pf juwan is his backup.... i think if rockets get good pf and pg who can create his own shot and hit this damn 3s, alston and chuck should be a great guys off the bench

I gotta disagree with those critics, i think McGrady would perform poorly in that role, that's a catch & shoot scorer like Reggie Miller or Rip Hamilton or Luol Deng. McGrady is a hot/cold streak scorer who's best going 1 on 1 or improvising, like Wade.

I think both teams were pretty evenly matched, i thought this series would go 7 in favor of Houston so i'm not suprised the Jazz squeaked it out. When a series is tight, it's all about the little things and all 8 players in the rotation.

What i don't understand, why is Rafer the #3 option behind Yao & TMac? He keeps jacking shots up and can't hit a brick wall. He shot 33% from the field (worse from the arc) and continues to play 45 minutes a game.

Anyway the Jazz is a better 5 man team, Houston has 2 stars and that's about it. And 2 guys can't take you very far, just look at the Nuggets.

I know... but Chuck Hayes should be a back up. The Jazz had Paul Millsap who is a better version of Chuck Hayes as a back up.

i don't belive it my twin brother tyrus aka -km-, i think he's leaving since he thought this was the year for the rockets but due to his cooaching and he doesnt want anymore of those playoff failures.. he just decides to quit on it.. rather than get fired...

Exactly what i'm saying, I think he is fine being in pick and rolls, Mcgrady is possibly the best passer out of the dynamic scoring 2 guards in the league.. However he is prob also the most inconsistent shooter, along with Gilbert ( i know he is not a 2guard)...

I think Mcgrady was great, he should have attacked more in his early games.. but they were pretty much killed in Utad.. not blown out, but pretty bad losts...

and Nuggets is not really a 2 man team.. they Have Nene, Camby, i'll take Blake over Alston.. and guys like Evans would be starting in Houston..
