I hate to say it,but this is defintely Dallas's year. I still hope Miami will repeat, though.

I Agree i think probably Dallas, but as long as Dallas or San Antonio don't win i'm happy....
Denver would be nice

gotta say dallas or phoenix. either would make me happy since the celts wont win anything. dont wanna see miami win again, dont even think they will make it so thats good. i am gonna say dallas over detroit in finals

Dallas. They play with a chip on their shoulder because of that lost finals last year and are pretty unstoppable so far this year. It will be a great WC finals with Phoenix again this year ... it will go all the way to 7 games, but I think Dallas will prevail in the end.
And there is noone in the east capable of stopping them, save Detroit and maybe Miami (but I seriously doubt they'll make it that far ... they are washed up and won't repeat). I think Detroit will win the East, and give Dallas a run for their money, but still ... at the end of the day it will be Dallas on top! They deserve it ...
... so does Phoenix btw, but only one can be champion unfortunately. I'd be happy with either being crowned.

It's easy to point to Dallas, but they too have questions to answer. After all they choked last year and they don't have any real clutch player. Terry and Howard are iffy down the stretch and Nowitzki hasn't proved to be constantly there when the game/series is on the line.
I think Phx has the edge at the moment, despite their poor record against Dallas and others. SAS will be a factor too, i don't see them going out in less than 7. The way Ginobili has picked it up post all-star break, if he plays like that in the playoffs then Spurs get my voe irrespective of how anyone else plays.
Of course people will rule out the East. So far Detroit looks to be the fav to make the Finals. If they do, then they can win the whole thing. They matchup well with SAS, as well as Dallas. Phx would probably cause the most problems.
Too early to tell, these questions will be answered in June.

".....and the Lakers pull off the upset!!!"

The Detroit Pistons are gonna be champs.
Sun Feb 25, 2007 6:23 am
I got Dallas over Detroit in 5 or 6 games.
Sun Feb 25, 2007 6:40 am
Phoenix over Detroit in 6.
Sun Feb 25, 2007 7:20 am
Hmm. I would say Dallas over Detroit in 6. Detroit has a clear path to the finals. Dallas will probably face a mediocre team (probably Denver) and Utah, and it will be up to the Suns to knock out San Antonio. I think that Dallas will beat either team in the conf. finals, and they are a lot better than Detroit.

Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals with time ticking. Here comes Bryant. Bryant for the win!!
No good!

And the Mavs advance to the NBA Finals. Mavs win the championship. Mavs beat the Pistons in 6 games.

interesting....let's move to the second question:regarding your answers, who will be the finals mvp in each team?
Sun Feb 25, 2007 4:53 pm
I agree that Dallas is the favourite at the moment but it's too early to count out Phoenix and San Antonio. Detroit seems the most likely team to come out of the East but out of those four teams I'd have to pick the Mavericks. They're deep, they're getting the job done in the regular season and they proved their mettle in the Playoffs last year, gaining experience along the way.

Hard to go past the Mavs. But I'll try, anyway and say the Suns. With Steve Nash a surprise Finals MVP...
Sun Feb 25, 2007 11:34 pm
Dallas, Phoenix, Detroit, maybe even Washington. They're all competitive teams to win the Championship. As for MVP's? Respectively, it could be Nowinski (wrong spelling), Marion, Amare, or Nash, Wallace, Hamilton, or Billups, or Agent Zero. Who knows.
Mon Feb 26, 2007 12:57 am
Champ: Phoenix
MVP: Amare
Mon Feb 26, 2007 1:43 am
terry gets injured and dallas is screwed
washington might make it to the finals but they're not a championship team.
detroit should be a legitimate contender.
