I hope Isiah signs him to new york (Y)

It was kinda obvious, after all that has happened...

No , Mo cheeks in NY is no good. We need Mr . Jackson!

ditto.

i like mo cheeks a lot and he was in a no-win situation.

why dont maurice cheeks use the 7-3 korean C?
i thought having a tall player in a regular lineup is useful..?

Thu Mar 03, 2005 3:06 pm

Not necessarily. Some of the least talented players in league history are 7'3" or taller.

usually when you go over a certain height you start getting worse. i always said imo that its best to be 7'0" or 7'1" than it is to be 7'4" or 7'5".

It dosent matter the blazers need to rebuild to have any chance , Mo Cheeks = good coach , bad team.

Fri Mar 04, 2005 1:06 pm

I'm happy for Cheeks. I admire what he did with all those problems during all those years.

I hope he goes to the East coast, Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta.

Fri Mar 04, 2005 1:39 pm

Philly is interesting. What sucks is the sixers wanted to talk to him about the job in philly, but the blazers wouldnt grant them permission. Then they fire him less than a season later. Classless. I'd love for him to land in minnesota or new york.

Agreed, though I'll extend that to 7'2" due to Kareem. ;) But most guys 7'3" or more are just too cumbersome to be effective players; a lot of them are basketball players because they're tall, not because they're talented.

As far as Cheeks is concerned...it's typical of the attitude towards coaches and fits in with the "can't fire the players" cliche, but that doesn't make it right. I too hope Mo isn't out of a job for too long.
