Andreas Obst with 11 3pointers, Euroleague record

Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona 100:78.

Andreas Obst (who was the player of the game when the US played against Germany in 2023's Olympics) made history with 11 3pointers in the game, 11/16 3P FG = 68.8% .... Euroleague record.

I don't think people who haven't primarily watched the nba there whole life, especially the last 10-15 years how hard I is to score 34 points in the main euro leagues are with the slightly different rules etc and the fact that the defence is tight on every possession, don't get me wrong I prefer the nba and the way the league is made up, the history and the draft process but the lack of defence, 3 point trigger happy style basketball and stars "resting" on top of a commissioner that keeps adding stupid gimmicks it's definitely not helping with the direction of league.

He had 11 3s and one FT. :D

I prefer 90s basketball with centers like Ewing, Olajuwon, Robinson, defense, blocks...

I stopped watching the All Star games some years ago. They should be the best going up against the best, but "the best players" includes defense, blocks, steals...and not a "let's do dunks all the time while the other team watches".
The 90s had some good All Star games...with real gameplay, defense and still room for gimmicks, fun (O' Neal bringing the ball, shooting 3s etc.).

I don't watch Euroleague...only the Austrian league because I am from Austria...

Apart from the lack of defense, what I don't like about the NBA is:

1) Way too many games...all European leagues (regardless of the kind of sports) have every team going up against every other team with one home and one away game. This would mean a total of 58 games per NBA team instead of 82.
The NBA knew that too many games are boring and introduced the NBA cup, but reducing the season to 58 games would have been better...but it is all about "entertainment" -> "money".

2) Unlike FIFA and soccer, the NBA does not allow international players to play with their countries, which is really sad. In soccer, there are national leagues with clubs, but when the country plays World Cup or Euro qualifiers or Nation League, there are no national league games scheduled so that all players can join their national teams and play. The NBA is all about money, contracts and insurances. International players such as Dennis Schröder, the Wagner brothers etc. are not allowed to play for Germany UNLESS the NBA playoffs are already over. Wemby is not allowed to play for France UNLESS during the summer...but not many players want to play 82 NBA games + playoff games + World Cup/Euro/Olympic games...then have very little time off before preparing for the next NBA season.

Countries such as Germany, France, Spain etc. have many good players and can compensate for the lack of NBA players during qualifiers, BUT Austria is different. We are a small country, have never played in the Euro or World Cup...and our best player Jakob Pöltl isn't even allowed to help us qualify for a tournament because the only games he can play for Austria is in summer when the NBA is over.

This would be an outcry in soccer...if the best players could not play for their countries.

With the reduction from 82 to 58 season games, international players would have enough time to play for their national teams!

By the way, US commentators need to get the pronounciation of Dalton Knecht correct. :D "Knecht" is a German name which means "farm hand". "K-nect" is wrong. The "ch" sound does not exist in English, but you could learn it.
Nowitzki used to be called "Dirk" just like "Irvin" although the "i" is the "ee" in "deer". -> "Deerk".

I'm an old head and although the players might put in more effort if there was less games but it's always been 82 games and I don't think I'd want to change that plus you also run the risk of the players still sitting out games so therefore stars playing even less and putting in little defence overall in less games which I think robs the nba fans even more.

I do understand what your saying about being from smaller basketball country tho and players not being able to represent there country till the summer, I'm from England and although Luol Deng would play in the summers at tournament time, Pops too. But we also had over the years John Ameachi, Ben Gordon and OG Anunoby who rarely played for Great Britain.
