Howard is now a Charlotte Hornet

Wed Jun 21, 2017 11:10 am

The Atlanta Hawks have traded center Dwight Howard to the Charlotte Hornets, according to The Undefeated’s Marc Spears.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Hawks would send MIkes Plumlee, Marco Belinelli, and the 41st pick for Howard and the 31st pick.

Lol.

I am enjoying this offseason. Perhaps it's because I didn't enjoy regular season so much that offseason all of sudden seems more interesting.

Good pick up by the Hornet if Dwight can stay healthy and motivated. He's rather getting old quickly though.

Getting old happens to everyone. Howard just relied on athleticism a lot. Once that went, so did his game.

It's what will probably happen to DeAndre Jordan and to a lesser extent Blake Griffin.

Speaking of Blake Griffin, we don't see as much of his dunking highlights no more. He was amazing-amazing at one point, better in your face dunker than Vince in my opinion. On more relevant note, seems Ainge is interested in him. The Celtics truly want to add a high profiler. I love it.

Blake is smart. He knows he's injury prone and he knows that type of play isn't sustainable. He's shied away from the insane dunks and tried to add a jumper/three to his game over the years. Dude just has a problem staying healthy.

He's light skin Amare.

Also: fuck Dwight Howard.

This is hilarious. Fuck that whiny little bitch. Ye shall reap what ye sow

He pisses me off. He doesn't dunk anymore. He's fallen in love with catching the ball and not making quick moves. Letting the defense settle and then shooting contested jumpers.

I don't really mind it for the Hornets, he won't cramp their spacing too much and he's still a net positive defensively against the teams that aren't breaking basketball. And the price isn't too high. He fits the Hornets short-term goals more than he did the Hawks.

He's going to be shooting three's this year.

Wow. When you're not even welcome in your hometown anymore.

This only goes to further prove that Dwight is an overrated player, a bad teammate, and a general waste of talent. I've watched him quit on teams time after time, and in return now teams are quitting on him.

This is a huge steal for the Charlotte Hornets, a Rebounding Monster like Dwight for one of the most hated players in Hornets history, Miles, and a good back up sg in Marco.

Not counting the lakers contingency here

Who is the forums most hated player?
James?
Durant?

I now want Jordan to participate in the team practice, like he did in the past, and call Dwight a faggot.

I'd say Howard because he could of being so much more but ran SVG our of town then left himself then left the Lakers then couldn't work in Houston then complained in ATL...

Little late here, but we traded severely negative value (3 years of an expensive Plumlee who does fuck all, and 1 year of Marco Bellinelli who actively hurt us last year). Even if we're only getting a rebounding specialist who doesn't do a whole lot on offense, and just does enough to get by on defense, we've already got a starting center in Cody Zeller who has already proven himself to be a roughly average starting center. I've been saying to my friends that even if Howard never played a single game for us, we'd still win the deal for shaving off a year of Plumlee's contract, since we're capped out till Dwight's contract expires anyway.

My expectations for Dwight aren't high, and I expect Zeller to eventually start ahead of him later on this season, but I'm happy because no matter how bad Dwight can be, he's better than the crap we had at backup center last year.
