US destroyed China today. Missed it but I think I heard Roundball Rock on the highlights??

China couldn't hold their lead, 2-0.

Australia defeated France too, solid start for them. Not looking forward to their massacre at the hands of the US on Thursday, but I'll likely watch anyway.

Serbia won too (vs Venezuela). Expected as well. Next up is Australia. It will be fun game to watch.

This is the best year Spain can finally beat the US. It's their core's last hurrah.

I watched a bit of the Australia - France game, Mills was great and France are no push over, I think the USA match up will be good to watch

Boomers on pace for that fourth or fifth place finish.
Do my powers work in international competition? We'll find out...

Woah! Spain just lost another one! This time, Brazil beat them. I didn't see that coming...

That silver medal suddenly became up for grabs.

Brilliant. Australia finally manages a top two finish, and they're going to face Spain anyway.

Turnovers aside, that has to be one of the best - if not the best - performances by the Boomers. If not for Melo's threes, they had a genuine chance of the upset there. Great game to watch, even though my country had to take the L. They weren't massacred, and they were in there with a shot. No shame in losing by ten to Team USA; not when you lead a decent amount of the game, and fight to the end. Feel like they're in pretty good shape.

Kind of a shame in the sense that had they put the cue in the rack a little earlier, they could have only gone down by five or six. Execution down the stretch was lacking, too; some awful shots in the final 30 seconds.
That said, if we're going to beat the US it's better that it happens in the gold medal game than now.

Yeah, desperation heaves to say the least. Turnovers were a problem and they gave up a bunch of offensive rebounds, but to do that and only lose by ten, especially with Melo hitting all those threes, is still a more than respectable effort. Glad I was able to catch it live.

Paul George
announces to the world that he's soft. And people think that today's players would survive in a more physical era. Not without trembling lips and tears streaming down their faces. Soft, soft, soft.

To be fair
Nothing gave me more pleasure than watching Kyrie cook Delly.
Kyrie Irving, however

I think I saw somewhere that the US had 20 more possessions.

If what Bogut did there was dirty, then I repeat: today's generation would not have survived in more physical eras.
Thu Aug 11, 2016 5:45 pm
If you think that's dirty, perhaps chess might be more at your level of physicality.
Thu Aug 11, 2016 5:58 pm
Hey now, chess can get pretty violent!

Dammit, since when being physical is dirty?
Australia really had a chance to win, but just had very poor executions.

Thank you! Dave Cowens, Paul Silas, Maurice Lucas.....THOSE cats were physical. Shit, they should be arrested for what they did to opposing ball-players.
