This offseason, a number of notable veterans have expressed interest in returning to the NBA. Ray Allen, Stephen Jackson, Richard Hamilton and Carlos Boozer are among the players who are reportedly thinking of making a comeback for the 2016-17 season. It makes sense that these players would want to return to the league, especially now that the NBA salary cap has reached an unprecedented high. Also, many of these individuals never lost the itch to play and want to compete at the highest level once again.

In addition to the aforementioned players, you can add Ronald “Flip” Murray to the list of veterans looking to get back into the league. Murray, who is 36 years old, told Basketball Insiders that he’s determined to make an NBA roster one last time.

I remember him tearing it up in the early stages of the 2004 season, when Ray Allen was out of action for the first month or so. I was maintaining roster updates for NBA Live at the time, and I remember everyone clamouring for his ratings to get higher and higher during that run. Not unlike Trevor Ariza in the 2010 season, however, he came back down to Earth after those first few weeks (and Allen returned to the lineup). Unless he's developed a three-point shot, he's probably a long shot to make the league, but best of luck to him all the same.

Another player who wants some of that big money being thrown around right now.

I really don't think Flip could make it back I think his game had weaknesses back in the 00's so at 36 years old I think it would be tough to make a return to the league unless like you said he developed a 3 point shot.

More chance of Smush Parker, Adam Morrison or Luke Ridnour making a return.
