Hah, no wonder Jugs hasn't been posting lately.

Anyone care to fill me in on the Bulls game? Sadly I was working at 6.

It was close till halftime. After that, the Raps just kept building up that lead and never looked back. Anthony Parker was gold from the three point corner, Juan Dixon had a nice game, TJ Ford kept bricking his shots, Bosh was solid, and Peterson was ejected with a flagrant on Hinrich (it wasn't intentional, but it wasn't good positioning either.)

Alright! The Heat lost, and the Raps won. Looks like the 6th seed is safe. But if the Wizards continue to lose every single game, the Nets may be able to pull out a 40-42 record, and take the 6th seed. They would be a lot harder than the Starless Wizards.

True, but if the Bulls continue to slump and the Raptors continue to surge, they could take the #2 seed. That's still unlikely, although it is still a possibility.

So we are now 1 game back of second with 4 games remaing. It will be tough, especially with our tough schedule.

The good news is our magic number to clinch third is 2 I believe.

funny how Sam can go from a near-lock to be fired by the end of the season (or not having his contract renewed at the least) to a big time [rumored] extension at the end. I don't know if it was his coaching talents that got him the extension or if he needs to thank the Celts, 76ers, Nets, Knicks, and the injuries to the Heat, etc. etc.

How about giving him better players? I mean come on we had D-League Stud Loren Woods as our starting C for the last two years ....better players, better results

Injuries? We have had our own bad breaks this year so thats a non-factor. I mean, Bosh,Ford,Calderon,Bargnani,Garbojosa,Parker have all missed significant time this year.

And yup, I got tickets. Game 1 and 7 if needed! Go raps go

I'll admit that Mitchell isn't going to be fired anytime soon considering the record and position that the Raptors are in right now, but the guys an idiot when it comes down to it.

Mitchell's biggest strength (and probably his only strength as a coach) is his ability to motivate players and develop team chemistry. You can tell that the Raptors are a close-knit group of players that really enjoy playing with one another and the players are always putting an effort on the floor, which is something I really admire about Mitchell.

Sam just plain stinks at everything else though. He can't draw up anything more complex than a simple pick and roll, he makes horrendous substitution patterns and he seems to fail to grasp the simple concept of off-ball movement.

But hey, if it's working and gets the Raptors the 3rd seed in the East, I don't have much to complain about.

I fixed the page width thing, sorry guys.

I'm undecided on Mitchell. I agree with asdf, he's not a great coach strategy-wise, but he's a really good players' coach. Maybe he'd be willing to be an assistant coach or something like that?

I highly doubt Mitchell would take a demotion like that. The fact is once given the players he's proven that he can lead a winning team. Chemistry, I believe should be the most important thing of any team in any sport. If the guys get along with each other and enjoy playing with each other, everything else will fall into place

Bringing in a strategist and playmaker as an Assistant coach isnt out of the question though. I think that would only help Mitchell and his evolution as a coach

Duh. That makes sense. I can't believe I didn't think of that.

Would Iavoroni or whoever take an assistant's job? Or does he want a head coach's spot?

Iavoroni is already an assistant with Phoenix, it would be a laterall move for him.....then again, Colangelo did it too so who knows

^I'm not sure what you're referring to when you talk about Colangelo.

He was offered more money to be with the Raptors and he's also the president of basketball operations, not just the GM as he was when he was in Phoenix. So it isn't really a lateral move for Colangelo.

Im pretty sure Colangelo was President of Phoenix at the time. Jerry Colangelo was president but when he left, im almost positive Bryan became president

More likely than not, the Raptors should be playing against the Nets for the first round playoff match. Should be very, very interesting to watch, especially since Vince is playing against his former team. It'd be heartbreaking for them to lose against the Nets, so I'd like to see them stick it to Vince.

There's still hope they get the Wizards. A series with the Nets would be more exciting though.

I would drool over a series with the Nets but I dont think this is the time for it. We have to look at the possibilities, those being Washington and New Jersey. Clearly we want to win and the best chance is against Washington. Then again, how sweet it would be to stick it to wince

How terrible Raptor fans would feel if they would lose to the Nets. The Nets are always going to be a scary team since Carter always seems to be able to win games by himself when he plays against the Raptors. Plus, their team has much more playoff experience than the Raptors. Although I definitely agree with you that it'd be way too ironic for the Raptors to be the ones giving the Nets the boot out of the first round.
