benji wrote:Wins by 3 points or less are not really that relevant in the overall scheme of things. Patterns don't hold up over repeated trials enough because it's a sample size of about 1.3 shots. Five or less is more informative but it's still two possessions.
That said, there's been a lot of discussion about their gameplan late in close games. Not sure if there's any way that can be seen statistically, though.

So you missed the next sentence.

Winning/losing in a close game for the Heat is overstated just like our bench. That's one area that can be improved but definitely not a major issue.
Anyways, Chalmers is likely out for the season. Not the way I envisioned Bibby to start, but starting position was rightfully his. Many are worried about bench now but with Miller and others, we should be fine.

You'd still be running into the sample size issue, though, wouldn't you?

Only if we assume all games that are within five points in the last five minutes wind up within three or five points at the end.
Either way five minutes over multiple games is still a larger sample than one to two possessions over the same number of games.
But of course, the larger the sample, the more we'll buy. The first season together won't be a big deal in the end.

The Heat could really use Arroyo now. I hope it gives Eddie House a chance.

The advertisement during Heat games was better, Joel flirted with the camera and had a big hat on.

I am starting like how things are falling into places with this Heat team. With soon-to-be back Chalmers, Ilgua and Haslem, this team will be at full strength while Bibby makes himself more comfy on the court. Also, the Heat got used to playing in hostile playoffs atmosphere and other teams bringing their A game all season long. No wonder they got bored and now can't wait for the playoffs. And unlike the Bulls and Magic, the Heat are Celtics type of team that have another gear to reach for the playoffs.

Interesting turnaround from these sentiments a couple of weeks back:
ZanShadow wrote:Ilgua isn't better than Dempier. Ilgua is old as hell and he can hardly walk. In fact, he runs slower than Shaq, rotates slower than Eddy Curry, and shoots like Shaq at FT line. If he did start for the Heat, he'd instantly become the weakest link over Chalmers. He couldn't guard anyone, not Dwight, not Shaq, not Boykins, not Eddy Curry and definitely not Mbenga.
Back on the topic, I am extremely disappointed with another loss tonight. Blow out loss is just inexcusable. Some saying it's not time to panic yet, but what? The team is an utter shit, definite dog shit atm. It's definitely time to try something new. Fire the underachieving Spoeltra or at least move him down to assistant coach to bring changes.

After allowing ORL to come back from 24 point deficit by giving them wide open 3 looks, again the Spurs hit how many treys in tonight's game?

Haha I'm still laughing my ass off at the Heat team being bored. If they are so "bored" why did they cry about the games they lost? Bored of what exactly?

HATERZ!!!

Bored that they can't get the top spot from the Bulls or Celtics.

Yeah, I don't see how this Heat team
is a Celtics-type team in the playoffs. This is barely their first season together, how do you know whether or not they'll choke or go to the Finals? Unless you've seen the future, don't go saying that the Heat "are" a team that turns it on in the playoffs. Maybe they will, though.
I'm bored of Zan's change of feelings from one day to another in this thread.

Sigh...
Like I said, if you watched at least a couple of Heat game this season, you'd know the teams been bringing their A game against the Heat and especially on every away games, the Heat were playing in hostile playoffs atmosphere, which gave much motivation to those other teams. I guess that was to be expected but playing such games on daily basis whereas wins and losses don't really matter as much, of course the Heat were going to get bored and grew tiresome over the period. That is the sentiment that Bron and Wade seem to share these days especailly with medias constantly being on Heat's ass for whatever the reasons are.
Recent losses were disappointing but the Heat are being responsive. And let's face it. The Heat are still the top team in pythag winning % and newly added crucial piece in Bibby now are playing major minutes and starting to mesh well. As I said, I am just starting to like how things are slowly turning out to be in Miami. Don't make too big fuss over it, bitches like today's medias.

Yeah, whiny bitches like this one:

The Cavs fans won't have the '11-8? Looks like you left your talents in Cleveland!' slogans, but I'm pretty sure it's overflowing with all sorts of crying-related stuff.
Wed Mar 30, 2011 8:51 am
I honestly can't think of one thing Cleveland has that Miami doesn't that Cavs fans could make a sign out of. The only thing I could think of was a decent center, and then I remembered Andy Varejao's injured.

Miami Heat are currently losing by 12 to the Cavaliers with three minutes left.
Oh.
My.
Fucking.
God.
What is this world coming to???
