Andrew, who will prevail in the Brooklyn-Bulls series?

Neutral to both sides, I say Bulls win in 6 or 7 if Rose stays out, and win in 4 or 5 if he actually comes back. I don't expect him to return this year though.
Sat Apr 13, 2013 4:00 am
That's understandable. But if Rose doesn't return and the Bulls lose the series, I can only imagine Bulls fan starting to hate Rose.
Sat Apr 13, 2013 9:48 am
Well, some of the stupider, more short-sighted fans might hate him. If he's not ready to return, physically and mentally, that's just the way it is. I'd rather they bow out in the first round this year and regroup with a healthy Rose next season than have him attempt an ill-advised comeback just for the sake of trying to get through to the second round.
As for their chances against Brooklyn, if they're relatively healthy (Rose aside) then I wouldn't count them out, but I'd be more inclined to pick the Nets in six; five depending on Noah's status.

Under normal circumstance, I would want the Bulls to advance but as a Heat fan, I'd rather have BKN than the Bulls in second round. Because the Nets' frontcourt provides less problems for LeBrick and Wade so they could stick to what they do the best, finish around the rim.

Did anyone else watch Lakers vs Warriors game? Referees were unstoppable again. LOL. Especially that foul by Curry at the end against Steve Blake that put them on top eventually. Even TV crews were too scared to play the replay. LoL

50 free throw attempts

Kobe most likely torn Achilles. Another fucking plot twist to the Laker saga.

Dirk is only 10 points away from making 25K.
Sat Apr 13, 2013 7:36 pm
This is sad. Very sad to see a team not be at its fullest in the post-season. I don't care even if they are going to face OKC and lose. They should be at their fullest whenever. Same case for Denver as well.
Sat Apr 13, 2013 7:47 pm
Ewing Theory?
Shame the team probably doesn't have enough three point shooting to pull it off.
Sun Apr 14, 2013 2:30 am
Wow I feel bad for Kobe... I bet he makes a comeback at some point but he will never be the same most likely. I'm sure this si not not the way he wanted to go out.
Sun Apr 14, 2013 3:47 am
I don't think he ever wanted to go out.
Sun Apr 14, 2013 10:22 am
Well they get a better coach than D'Antoni. I feel sorry for Kobe willing his team to get to the playoffs at age 34 and just going down with a single step.
Sun Apr 14, 2013 12:03 pm
6-9 months. But I'm pretty sure he will return. Will be now interesting to see how DH plays.
Sun Apr 14, 2013 3:42 pm
It's not DH that's going to be interesting. We all already know what he does and doesn't. He will rebound, defend, and score on good passes. Time to time, the Lakers will post him up and let him create his own shot(not his strength though) which is a gravy to the Lakers offense. Rather, it's going to be interesting to see changes in offense system. The Lakers were all about Kobe-system this season. He was first-scorer, first-playmaker, and a first-initiator on offense.
Now, the system will be obviously more about ball movement and team involvement. Nash used to be a great playmaker. He and Gasol were always capable of initiating offense. It's going to be interesting how that replaces Kobe-Basketball. But of course, Kobe's ability get to the freethrow line will be greatly missed
(whether or not deservedly
).

Who sees a new coach for Lakers next season?
Sun Apr 14, 2013 5:06 pm
I dunno, is Stan Van Jeremy still available?

The Lakers signed D'Antoni to a three or four year contract worth around $12 million IIRC. And they just paid off Mike Brown to go away.
So I hope so. $15 million over five years to SVG I think would be a great move.
I'd also think about firing Kupchack and bringing in Otis Smith. He and Stan surrounded Dwight decently with three point bombers in Orlando, back-to-back 59 win seasons, Finals and Conference Finals trips, maybe they could do it again in LA.
Sun Apr 14, 2013 7:48 pm
Surrounding Dwight with some good 3pt-shootern was exactly was I was thinking of. That's (together with one of the best C ever) what brought Houston 2 titles in the '90ies and what - as benji said - even worked with Dwight in Orlando.
But let's just see who of the Lakers current roster will return next season...

Yes, D'Antoni made the wrong decision wearing Kobe out to his limit. But it's not Kobe would just play 30mins and watch his team not make it to the playoffs. So, all blame shouldn't be on that guy.

Mavs hit .500; too little too late in the Playoff race, but it spells the end
for the beards.

Impressive game. The Lakers win against the Spurs. No drama in this one. LoL
Other than Pop playing hack a Howard tactic despite the huge boos.

Anyway, since you quoted quoted two of my posts just to diss, I think I should explain. My first post there was sarcasm at the whole Lakers changing coaches saga and my 2nd one was entirely my opinion.
I would like to finish with this awesome gif thanks to NovU which indicates my care to your reply properly:

lmfao that one never gets old
