There's no sense trying to argue, I know what i've seen and read, so you dissecting up my posts is just for you to kill time!!! And reason why the fans are mad at Carter is because he basically didn't try and admitted it, and how he gave up on the team!! I'm sure if Carter got everything he wanted he would play harder, wouldn't he? Like I said after the playoffs things went sour for the Raps, and of course all the blame would go to Vince cause I guess he put the whole team together, RIGHT? Carter asked for HELP, got help, but the rest of the team wasn't producing on a consistent basis
We got to the playoffs with Chris Childs and Williams in the back court and they did well!!!
And yeah I seen the McGrady incident, that was obviously one of the cases, but like I said, He said, that there was guys on the team that didn't want to be there, so he didn't want to re-sign with the team cause those guys (the Veterans) wanted to leave, and he like playing with those guys. McGrady said that himself, unless he was miss quoted

And another thing, look how hard Alvin Williams played for the Raptors and where it got him, he can barely play now cause he had to log so many minutes at the point over the years and it fucked up his knees. I guess Vince should have played himself into early retirement as well lol

Vince didnt play at all. That is all im going to say about this issue from now on. I've covered my points, and exploited yours I'm done beating this horse

That pretty much sounds like a person whos had his arguement refuted with valid points. If you don't enjoy people "dissecting" your posts, you might as well go elsewhere, because the reason why's he's been taking your posts piece by piece is because he's responded to nearly all of your points with thorough and well-thought out counter-arguements.
And reason why the fans are mad at Carter is because he basically didn't try and admitted it, and how he gave up on the team!! I'm sure if Carter got everything he wanted he would play harder, wouldn't he?
But you see, if Carter got everything he wanted, wouldn't that just make management meaningless? There's no need for Carter to get everything he wanted, because thats simply just babying him. He's a grown man and if he can't handle not getting a thing or two his way, he shouldn't belong in the NBA.
Like I said after the playoffs things went sour for the Raps, and of course all the blame would go to Vince cause I guess he put the whole team together, RIGHT? Carter asked for HELP, got help, but the rest of the team wasn't producing on a consistent basis
The fact is, if you're the franchise player you have to accept the burden of being a leader, a go-to guy and a guy that sets the tone of the team. Vince did next to nothing when it came to having the pressure on him. If you read my point earlier, you'd understand that the Raptors would sell an arm and a leg for players to keep Carter happy and that the core group of players were capable of producing (2001-2002 season is the perfect example).
We got to the playoffs with Chris Childs and Williams in the back court and they did well!!!
You just contradicted yourself right there. If Childs and Williams was a good backcourt, then why did you say that Carter never got the help he needed?
By the way, Childs was a starving man's Mike James with incredibly poor shooting percentages. I'm glad Toronto got rid of his sorry ass.
I'm not a Carter hater, in fact, I feel that Carter's getting way too much negative press from the Toronto media since they portray him as some sort of Hitler to the Raptors. He's a very talented player and I think that if he gets someone to nudge him the right way he's an amazing player. But, to say that Carter was absolutely innocent of what he did is downright stupid.

Looking at that live Chad Ford chat, looks like Fred Jones is heading to Portland for Juan Dixon.
Fri Feb 23, 2007 6:32 am
Good trade for the raps. I'm really happen to see them do really good trades.
Fri Feb 23, 2007 7:12 am
Good trade. Dixon fits the rest of the team better imo and he has one less year on his contract. Good deal for us
Fri Feb 23, 2007 8:02 am
he has one less year on his contract
No, he has 2 years remaining (same as Jones)

I think he has one less, according to a lot of reports.
Anyway, I like the trade since Jones didn't fit with the team at all. But the trade is pretty insignificant, imo, since I don't think Dixon would get much playing time anyway.

Bargnani is playing. Due to weather he couldn't get a flight out Thursday night and will now instead fly out Saturday morning

Speaking of Bargnani, here's an awesome article on him:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/stor ... g/bargnani
Here's an excerpt that I really like:
For years, NBA teams have used the Caliper Profile to evaluate potential draft picks. The Caliper is a personality profile used by numerous corporations and organizations to measure one's capacity to excel in specific situations. Over the past 24 years, Caliper has assessed more than 20,000 athletes, including NBA players from Detroit, San Antonio, Denver and Phoenix. Colangelo has long been sold on the system. When he heard how Bargnani measured up, he nearly dropped the phone.
"They said his upside and potential were off the charts," Colangelo says from the tunnel of the Air Canada Centre as Bargnani drains a three against the Cavaliers. "They said, 'Out of all the athletes we've profiled, we've never seen anything like this.' "
The test showed that Bargnani is virtually oblivious to what others think of him. And his tremendous ability to block out such potentially negative pressures enables him to focus completely on the task at hand. So the expectations and anxieties that come with being the No.1 pick, or the only Italian-born player in the league, or even taking a game-winning shot, don't even register with him

nice article....good to see him doing well also

I don't know why, but that sounded hilarious to me

Sucks that they lost to the Bucks last night, but fortunately the Nets lost to the Celts. If they win today, they'll get some nice breathing room for the Atlantic title.

So the Raps have now won 4 in a row and look like they are going to pass Washington for the third seed any day now, a great accomplishment for a team that started 2-8! With that said, who do you want the Raps to play in the first round? I think the three most likely options would be Washington,Miami, and Chicago. I see Miami passing Washington to win the Southeast and Chicago will remain the 5th seed, thus giving us a first round matchup against the Wiz.
(And not to draw attention to it, but I think I drove ThaLiveKing away lol)
Fri Mar 16, 2007 4:56 am
I'm happy with their accomplishments but that 3 game losing streak concerned me a bit. Heh, glad to see they're back on track, and I definitely think they would match up against Washington the best. Miami, despite injuries, already has a championship under their belt, and Chicago has a team full of talent, and I'd worry about them playing against the Bulls in the first round.
Fri Mar 16, 2007 6:30 am
hopefully they play against washington in the first round...
and i cant wait for game against houston
Sat Mar 17, 2007 6:42 am
Yeah...Washington would be great!

As the Raptors move closer to the first division title in franchise history, mathematics becomes part of the equation.
With New Jersey suffering a 93-86 loss to the Miami Heat last night, any combination of 11 Raptor victories or losses by the Nets or New York Knicks will give Toronto the Atlantic Division championship.
The 36-29 Raptors lead the 30-36 Nets by 6 1/2 games, the same margin they hold over the 29-35 Knicks, who are mere percentage points behind New Jersey.
Toronto has 17 games remaining, while New Jersey has 16 and the Knicks 18.
The Raptors, who have the conference and division standings posted inside the door to their locker room, are loath to talk about anything other than winning each game as it comes.
"Until they put that asterisk beside your team name, you haven't done anything," coach Sam Mitchell said yesterday. "You've still got to get there."

Well tonights game was horrific. We played with little to no energy, made no shots, no free throws and played no defense. We need to get this type of play out of our system before the playoffs.
Sat Mar 17, 2007 12:03 pm
Yeah sad game...expected more from Raps today. Rockets were shooting hot! they were getting pure shots from outside the 3 point line...
Not enough defence/blocking...they need to step it up.
Mon Mar 19, 2007 4:23 am
HORRIBLE second half against the Knicks. One turnover after another, not to mention nothing was going in from the perimeter. Just a taste of how the Raptors cannot depend strictly on jumpshooting. The Knicks were on fire in the second half, Raptors get a taste of their own medicine with hot outside shooting. They will need to score in other ways other than outside jumpers.
