Mavs, Grizzlies and Suns race is pretty interesting. Would suck if Mavs won't make it to the playoffs for a little decision like this one.

As a kid I got up at 3 to watch Steve Nash,

never thought I'd be the one making that much cash,

In America they were first saying Goran Tragic,

all along I believed in my own magic.

Now, in the NBA, they call me the Dragon - zmaj,

- when it awakes inside me, breathing fire, flashing by now!

Goran, Gorane, you're the best playmaker in the NBA,

faster than a bird, dropping three-pointers.

Dragon, Dragone, MVP & All-Star,

I adore and love you,

even though you're from Slovenia.

I fought to get to where I am now,

I feel like I'm living some sort of dream,

Got married and had a son,

Who's your daddy?

And the team is playing like one big family.

But still I do miss the guys from national team,

in Phoenix my Maja sometimes makes me žgance,

because I love everything , everything that is Slovene,

specially the fans who are cheering hellishly.

Now, in nba, they call me the Dragon - zmaj,

- when it awakes inside me, breathing fire, flashing by now!

Goran, Goran ours,

you you you are the best in the world, our basketball player,

faster than a bird, dropping three-pointers.

I love you I'd give you all,

you're really such a great guy, such a catch,

That you're an All-Star knows even Kevin Durant!

Gogi, I love you because like me, you have a soft ć.

We adore you all!

We love you all!

Although we are not countrymen.

Gogiiiiiiiiiiii!

(Dragon, Dragone, Dragon, Dragone Željko, Modrijani take over)

Goran, Gorane, you're the best playmaker in NBA,

Good point. I don't know if the refs simply could have stopped the game and reviewed the play.
http://mavsblog.dallasnews.com/2014/04/ ... ding.html/
“Upon review at the league office, we have found that a shot taken by Dallas’ Monta Ellis with 16.0 seconds remaining in overtime was on the way down when initially contacted and ruled a block by Golden State’s Jermaine O’Neal, and should have been ruled a goaltend. The exact trajectory of the ball when touched was impossible to ascertain with the naked eye, and the play was not reviewable.”

This was a costly mis-judgement on refs part either way imo.

The Mavericks are now 9th seed just behind the Suns btw.

Wow. I didn't even know Spurs winning streak was on 19. OKC coming up. Rooting for Durant :applaud:

LeBron making clear offensive fouls but the refs aren't calling them, protetcing the Heat as always. I'm so glad LeBron choked again. Good game good effort.

Hearing the Milwaukee Bucks are very VERY close to being sold pending league approval. Might be done already.

That sucks. They had a bright future before Bogut destroyed his arm a few years ago.

Edit: Though they still have a bright future. Top pick in a strong draft plus already some talented young guys on the roster.

Although right now the rumor is that they've been bought by a group headed by Junior Bridgman and Mark Attanasio, Who would fully fund a new arena themselves.

Kevin Durant>MJ

At least in one particular way, for now. Won't be surprised if he breaks all the scoring records, dude is a beast. When you look at other scorers like Melo(who scored 13 against Heat), you can really see how Durant is just one level above.

Pacers keep playing shitty. Which gives a less shitty Miami the 1st place in the East. And it may be just too late for the Knicks.

The West race for the #8 is the only interesting thing left in this season. All the awards are decided already.

KD over MJ? MJ averaged 37.1 ppg over 82 games and has a career average of 30.1 ppg in a slower paced league. KD has a lot of work to do before I'd even start thinking about any comparison. First of all he should start playing defense on an above average level.

I know it's way too early. But I find it very believable that Durant will surpass Jordan on the scoring area by the time he is done.

Come on, Steve. That defense burn is unfair, at least this season. I took the Jordan Career stats against Durant's this year stats:

PPG - Durant: 32.1/Jordan 30.1
RPG - 7.6/6.2
SPG - 1.3/2.3
BPG - 0.7/0.8
APG - 5.6/5.3

He is also the better shooter between them(not just this season, always):

FG% - Durant: .507/ Jordan: .497
3P% - .404/.327
FT% - .873/.835

I realize that I might be the only person in the Earth right now that thinks Durant is comparable to Jordan. But Durant will surpass Kobe in the next 2 seasons, so that's a start

As a scorer, I think Durant is certainly inserting himself into the conversation with all the great offensive threats we've seen in years gone by. However, it's an odd comparison to line up a single season's stats against career stats (which are obviously affected by season outside of a player's peak); it doesn't really prove anything, except that one player's single season had some higher numbers than another player's career averages. To that end, you could do the same thing with one of MJ's best seasons and Durant's career stats. All it demonstrates is how numbers outside a player's prime drag down their career averages at the end of the day.

Thought LeBron got fouled on the way up by Joe Johnson, but it looked like Plumlee's fingertips hit the ball first. Some of the tweets under the trending "Mason Plumlee" are quite amusing

Was a good night. Dirk got in the top 10 All-Time. LeBron choked like always, also was a crybaby because he didn't get the call.

It'd be interesting to see how things go down if the Heat and Nets met in the Playoffs, though as it stands that would require the Bulls being eliminated in the first round for that to happen, which I'm personally not keen on seeing.

Re: Random NBA Discussion 2013-14 Season

If that Joe Johnson touch or Plumlee defense wasn't a foul, I don't know what is. NBA just wanted the "Nets sweep Heat" headline.

And I'm starting to think Wade and Oden are resting for the upcoming Pacers match.

What constitutes a foul in the NBA is an up and down thing, indeed a riddle for the ages.

Re: Random NBA Discussion 2013-14 Season

Wed Apr 09, 2014 8:46 pm

At least Joe Johnson made a play for the ball with his hand, LeBron's was more blatant with the foul by holding down Durant's right arm.

lol at comparing career stats to a single season.

Why would they want that ?

Re: Random NBA Discussion 2013-14 Season

JJ fouled LBJ on that play but it could have gone either way because of speed of the play and how LBJ looked unaffected by the contact which was kinda minimal anyway. Plumlee's block was clean. Just a stinker.

The Nets are one of the hottest teams right now. Most of us predicted this team would be a better playoffs team than a regular season team. Perhaps it's true. It's going to be interesting who they will face in the first round. It's either the Bulls or the Raptors.

What SteveOHtown said is true though. MJ played in era where scoring came hard. He played in a slow paced era with less possessions to work with.

But I agree. You are not crazy. He'll be comparable to the greatests at least for the scoring department when his career is over (at this pace). He's had a legendary season last year as a scorer and is repeating it again this season. His efficiency is out of this world and I saw debates/mentions among some stat people already regarding how great he was as a scorer last season.

Kinda why I mentioned if the Thunder have ability to put together enough talent to surround KD so that he could win a couple rings. It's either you go down as Hakeem or Robinson(b4 Duncan). You want as much team success in order to be remembered more favorably.
