Absolutely, I won't complain that there's too many games on for me to watch. I'll still regularly watch all four games. I just hope the coverage of the Playoffs is a lot better than last year, that was shameful.

Wed Feb 27, 2008 9:04 pm

the only thing I'm ever worried about in March on Foxtel is the coverage of March Madness....NBA takes a definite backseat in March....

Thu Feb 28, 2008 9:39 am

I wouldn't say that myself, though you're a much bigger college fan than I am. With ten teams in the West currently over .500 and nine of them in a really close race for eight Playoff spots, March and April in the NBA is going to be fairly important in its own right.

Woooo... ESPN decided to be FUCKING ASSHOLES and not show the game today.

Bunch of cunts...

I knew it was too good to be true, a game that I actually want to watch, between two teams who aren't lottery bound. (ie. chicago/miami/memphis/seattle/portland) and havnt ever been shown before (ie. lakers/suns/dallas/detroit/spurs)

Who gives a flying fuck about the u/19 cricket championships anyway?

Sat Mar 01, 2008 10:29 am

Very lame to say the least. It's not a very encouraging sign for the Playoffs, particularly if the Fox Sports coverage ends with the regular season again.

Sat Mar 01, 2008 3:44 pm

Apparently they are going to show the replay tonight at 8.

Sun Mar 02, 2008 10:35 am

I noticed that last night. Having seen the result beforehand, I didn't bother.

I managed to keep my self from seeing the results and thoroughly enjoyed the game, even if it was 6 hours later than it should've been....
Anyway i very much enjoyed Denver today as well, as we ran over the Suns and Spurs on Saturday, im pumped :o

Fri Mar 07, 2008 9:10 am

I didn't check ahead to see if the game would be shown at eight so I didn't bother avoiding the results. Hopefully they'll show the Hornets and Jazz again before the regular season ends or better yet in the Playoffs, providing ESPN doesn't once again become the Entire Spurs Playoff Network.

APRIL. APRIL. APRIL.

New Foxtel NBA schedule for the upcoming month.

Wednesday 2nd: Orlando vs New Orleans FS3
Thursday 3rd: Golden State vs Dallas ESPN
Friday 4th: Cleveland vs Chicago
Saturday 5th: Dallas vs LA Lakers ESPN
Wednesday 9th: Memphis vs Phoenix FS2
Thursday 10th: Phoenix vs San Antonio ESPN
Friday 11th: LA Clippers vs LA Lakers FS2
Saturday 12th: Cleveland vs Chicago ESPN
Wednesday 16th: NO GAME
Thursday 17th: Seattle vs Golden State ESPN
Sunday 20th: NBA Playoffs Game 1, ESPN - 12:30 p.m. start
Saturday 26th: NBA Playoffs Game 3, ESPN - 12:30 p.m. start
Sunday 27th: NBA Playoffs Game 4, ESPN - 10 a.m. start

Perhaps too early to tell just from that, but it seems as though ESPN is going to be our only provider of the NBA playoffs once again.

Although the 10 a.m. start on that third game suggests maybe a game from the East Coast.

No real opinion of the selection of those remaining regular season games. Generally good to see the Bulls, nice to see the Griz and the Hornets getting a run as well. No Miami is baffling.

Wed Mar 26, 2008 8:47 pm

well, if anyone remembers last season, we got the West mostly....an occasional East game. (Det - Orl, Det - Chi come to mind) That means this season we'll be getting the East :-(

@least ECF should be good, but honestly, even though Detroit will probably be there....I'd rather watch the West.

Wed Mar 26, 2008 9:01 pm

I'm glad to see a couple of Bulls games, though I'm not exactly biased there. I'd like forward to the Lakers/Mavs game a bit more if Dirk was playing, Mavs/Warriors could still be entertaining though (especially with the Mavs trying to hold onto a playoff spot) and Suns/Spurs is a bit fresher with Shaq around. Magic/Hornets could be good.

My magazine arrived today as well, as soon as I saw only ESPN listings come playoff time I expected the worst. I checked ahead in the online guide and it looks like we'll be getting two or three games per week which is tolerable and much better than last year's effort. We're getting the Eastern Finals this year so hopefully there'll be a few Western games through the first couple of rounds. At least it'll avoid becoming the Entire Spurs Playoffs Network again.

Wed Mar 26, 2008 10:32 pm

That's the second time you've made that ESPN acronym, Andrew. Pretty proud of it, eh?

Thu Mar 27, 2008 12:33 am

More proud than I should be. I was kind of hoping it would catch on as BSPN did, but that's probably a lost cause...in which case, I'll start campaigning for Endless Scrabble (and) Poker Network.

Fri Mar 28, 2008 1:09 am

Nooooooooooooooo, i dont wanna watch the bloody Eastern Conference Playoffs :x

Fri Mar 28, 2008 1:32 am

The eastern conference playoffs might be not good at least there are some teams(like the 8 and 7 spot) trying for a playoff spot but eventually they will just gonna be sweep by the strong team anyway :|

I expect there'll be some Western conference games before the Conference Finals. I don't see many upsets taking place in the East so the ECF will likely feature some combination of the top teams, which will be more compelling than the earlier series.

Sat Apr 05, 2008 11:45 am

ESPN seems to have pulled the live airing of the Mavericks/Lakers game that starts in about half an hour. The replay is still scheduled for 7:30 PM tonight (Sydney time) following the latest episode of NBA Action.

EDIT: Scratch that. The listings have changed but it's definitely being shown live.

Tue Apr 15, 2008 1:18 am

first playoff game is scheduled for this Sunday

Tue Apr 15, 2008 10:02 am

Judging by the timeslot, it looks like it will be a Western Conference series.

Fri Apr 18, 2008 4:09 am

Utah vs Houston Game 1.....7 day on-line schedule doesn't show any other games

Yeah im happy with that game. Just as long as it wasn't Cavs v Wizards

Fri Apr 18, 2008 7:13 pm

ESPN International's listings have the following games in addition to the Rockets/Jazz game we already know about:

April 26th: Suns/Spurs Game 3
April 27th: Celtics/Hawks Game 4

Looks like the coverage is pretty much the same as last year, two games per week and then the complete Conference Finals and NBA Finals.

it's really disappointing not to get a Wednesday or Thursday game as well....ahh well....

Fri Apr 25, 2008 9:23 am

Agreed, especially since it will be difficult for me to catch the games this weekend since I'll be out of town and while my brother has Foxtel, it's obviously not my call to watch whatever I want. Maybe one of these days I'll invest in the IQ.
