Should have given Blatche his money.

But seriously, why is Riley not looking for a legitimate center? Oden just didn't pan out. Curry was still fat.

Beats me. Dawkins, another wing occupies the roster spot on top of pile of this shit.

Dawkins
Ennis
Granger
Shannon Brown

On top of pike of shit, the Heat went even further to prepare for Wade's potential time off. That's why Chalmers is at SG consistently and Norris Cole as a starting PG, so two can learn to share the floor while Napier comes off the bench as 3rd guard while Wade's out.

I honestly would have given players like Hasheem Thabeet or any other FA bigs a good look during the offseason. But Dawkins is what we got.

EDIT: It's also worth noting culprit for Hibbert's shitty last season was evidently Lance Stephenson. Al Jefferson is also having trouble rebounding the ball with Lance stealing all the board.

How da hell did the Blazers score 84 points in the first half today? Anyone watched that game?

I watched the game. Blazers moved the ball around and knocked down their open 3s. Denver 'defense sucks with Faried and Hickson especially.

Is this the new 3 ball era? Teams are leaning more and more towards shooting 3s. That perhaps explains disappearance of traditional type of big men(Al Jeff) in this league and small ball thriving? Can anyone confirm this please.

Blazers are so good at threes because of the attention Lamarcus Aldridge gets. He can post up, shoot mid-range and even go to 3pt line sometimes now. Blazers just swing the ball around until an open 3 pt shooter is available. This wouldn't be possible if Aldridge wasn't getting so much attention from the defense.

Last year when LMA was out for around 10 games the Blazers' 3pt shooting suffered as teams stayed locked in on the shooters.

Yeah, the Blazers are a great 3pt team. Just checked out their last season's stats, they were #3 in league in attempts and #7 in percentage which is very very impressive. It remains to be big part of their game as they're great at it. Basically, the Blazers attempt a lot from distance and makes a lot. It's funny though #1 attempt team was the Rockets(fast paced team) yet they were mere average in percentage, not as efficient at 16th out of 30 teams. The Hawks were 2nd in attempts but also average at 14th out of 30 teams in efficiency. So it looks like Curry's Warriors and Batum's Blazers are best 3pt oriented teams in the league.

Also the league clearly made a transition into a 3pt league. 20 years ago in 93/94 season, average 3pt attempts were 811. That number more than doubled now, last year, average attempts per team was 1766. This is insane. This entirely is different ball game now from then. No surprise Sauru says shits about today's league.

Horrendous first half by the 76ers. 10 : 38 after first quarter, 29 : 73 right now at halftime.

Now this is two games in a row the Kings completely lost it after a very strong start. :shake:

The Raptors as well. They collapsed after a quick start. What a wasted opportunity.

I have been eagerly waiting for Cousins and the Kings to take that next step for so long and they are almost there, so close. That's what makes me upset about these lapses in such winnable games.

Me too , the team is good this year but the defense still struggles sometimes , zbo and gasol killed them in the paint on the second half, still need a defense minded PF to make the team better.

123-70 victory for the Mavericks over the 76ers. Well, at least it wasn't the largest margin of defeat in history.

Despite the huge loss tonight, the 76ers are going to be a fun team to watch going forward because they now have MCW and Nerlens finally back together. Chemistry between these two(& possibly KJ McDaniels) is something to look forward to. I personally think potential on defence is endless with this core.

Obviously MCW needs to cut down on turnover ratio and shoot more efficiently this year, or maybe show improvement in shot selection. For Noel, he needs to find feel for the game against NBA bigs. He's been doing solid in my opinion. Perhaps MCW can help him out by getting him easy baskets around the rim with nifty passes.

They did avoid scoring the lowest number of points in a single half, though.

Fewest points in a half

16 by the New Orleans Hornets at the Los Angeles Clippers on March 1, 2006

Fewest points in 1st half

19 by the Los Angeles Clippers vs. the Los Angeles Lakers on December 14, 1999

Fewest points in 2nd half

Finished with 139, seven players in double digits, 66.7% from the field, 75% (15/20) from downtown. Wow.

Amazing. Kobe started 0 for 11? Now 1 for 14 atm.

http://www.boxscoregeeks.com/articles/k ... oints-club

I don't know how Scott can defend his shot selection. It's becoming way too obvious the Lakers intention this season. I thought they were to do it little more subtle than this. It's unfortunate to be his teammate imho, sacrifice in Kobe milestone for a franchise that wants to tank hard. There's no other logical explanation to this. Media still comes to his aid how Kobe is trying to lift talent depleted team to win. This a joke?

Definitely an interesting situation with Kobe. He does indeed finish with 9 points on 1/14 shooting on the night, with 229 points on the season on 210 attempts (36.7% from the field). I expect he'll avoid the one point per field goal mark (or even dipping below it), but I get the impression he's going to have some ugly, ugly shooting numbers by the end of the season. The Lakers really do appear to be bottoming out, too.
