I would not guess that Barkley would have lower ratings than Pippen.

I'm not sure about that. Pip's overall rating is usually in the lower to mid 90ies, and so is Chuck's (in several stats based mod rosters like UBR etc.).

You've said this before, but you've yet to produce a single scrap of evidence that proves the point.

Why must you always talk like a robot? :P Lol...jk.

Well, it's not really possible to give any evidence. Because unless time traveling is possible, we wouldn't know who would win in a match between them. But I think 2012 Team 'cause with Bron, KD & Kobe & Melo playing like that I find it hard to believe MJ & his team would be able to beat that.

KD, Kobe and 'Melo would have never had so many open 3s to shot with two of the games best perimeter defenders (of all time). Also the 2012 team lacked a solid inside game, while the Dream Team had Ewing, Robinson and even Malone. They also had Chuck who was pretty hard to handle those days. Magic could create a miss match as well. He might have had his problems with smaller and quicker PGs, but his size and his passing were awesome. On the bench the Dream Team had also the guy who still holds the all time steals record (Stockton).
If you watch games from the '90ies, you'll also realize that game was much harder/ physical in those days, so todays players would have taken a lot of hits inside and experienced a complete new inside game. ;)

Then imagine Jordan, Pippen, Barkley, Robinson, Ewing, Malone, Stockton, Drexler & Magic playing their usual best. Yeah, like that.

Even if it's blasphemous, 92 Drexler > 2012 Kobe.

20 years later, people forgot their game. Or possibly young-uns those that haven't seen their game...

It's not blasphemous at all, I'd take 1992 Drexler over 2012 Kobe too. Although I'd take 2008 Kobe slightly over 1992 Drexler, but it all depends on team makeup. Drexler was great SG & was one of last players to not accept he was going bald during the shave your head trend :bowdown2:

Hmm...going with Drexler over Kobe now? Food for thought.

I've watched the '92 finals (for the younger folks that was Chicago vs. Portland) recently. Drexler may have been at his prime those days. He was a freakish athlete with a 6'7 frame and the ability to shot the ball well. I'd definetly rank him over Kobe since '09.

For once, I'm 100% in agreement with a Celtic fan - Sauru nailed it.

We can still argue the point, make comparisons, give reasons why we each hold our respective point of view. That's what discussion boards are all about, after all.

I take the 1992 team because I think they were the more well-rounded team, on the whole stronger at both ends of the court. Seeing some of the defense that the 2012 team played during the Olympics, I'm not sure they'd be able to contend with a team with so many great offensive players, in their prime. Contrary to Kobe's recollection, only Bird and Magic were at the tail end of their careers and while back problems had taken their toll on Bird, Magic was still going pretty strong before his abrupt retirement after announcing he had HIV. While it would be a tough matchup, I also believe that the Dream Team in their prime had the tools to limit the 2012 team much more than they'd find themselves being shut down by them.

That's not to say the 2012 team is awful or couldn't hang with the Dream Team at all, because they're not and they certainly could. As far as them beating the Dream Team being a foregone conclusion though...nope. Just can't see it being that easy and straightforward for them.
