Bynum + Gasol for Howard looks good to me
Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:26 am
I doubt they'd do that in the wake of trading away Lamar Odom. It'd also be impossible given the salaries, though including Turkoglu would make it work.
Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:40 am
oh i forgot Odom is gone
Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:26 am
WTF is going on..
Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:47 am
Your Lakers making cap space for Dwight that's why Odom is gone.
A report also said that bringing in Paul was the first step for the Lakers plan. Second step was bringing in a PF not named Pau Gasol. I wonder if the plan is still the same for Dwight.

Paul to the Lakers:
Advantage
- better PG means there is more movement of the ball.
- CP3 can make his own shot especially at the Three and Pick and Rolls
- more alley oops and assists as a team
Disadvantage
- Gasol and Odom trade
- No Gasol and Odom, VERY LESS rebound and 2nd chance possessions
- NO Big Man for Pick and Roll, Bynum is more of a rebounder
- No more Sixth Man to come off the bench and be VERY productive
- NO more Twin Towers, NO more post UPS and Effective Big Screens
Dwight to the Lakers:
Advantage
- Best Big Man in the League
- SOLD OUT Tickets would likely be common
- Lakers Jersey and Apparels would likely boom
- More rebounds, blocks, Pick n Rolls and Alley Oops
- Definitely a Championship Contender
Disadvantage:
- "Hack a Dwight" happens, as Bynum is better in Free Throws
- HUGE Salary Tax means, some players had to be traded Ex. Brown, Artest, Bynum and Gasol
- Fear of reaching the Finals as Big Three, and end up like the Heat's. Due to lack of other players from contributing

But..just now they don't land Dwight..and they just gave Dallas Odom? For..nothing?

and what if the Magic will not trade Dwight to LAL?
Mon Dec 12, 2011 1:20 pm
-Dwight at first said that there was no such thing that he wanted to leave Orlando.
-If you remember, a video in Youtube, Howard was asked if theres a player he wants to play with, he quickly answered Kobe Bryant.
-Dec 2, 2011: Howard confided with Matt Barnes (a close friend of his) said that he wants to be a Laker.
-Today, NBA main page, Howard speaks out that he wanted a trade.
Above a just bits and pieces that leading one way. He will be a Laker. Why CP3 talks failed? MY guess is, CP3 wont sign a contract extension with the Lakers. Meaning, after CP3 becomes a Laker for 1 year, he can just go to the Knicks- where his heart is. Just like Dwight. If another team get Dwight from the Magic, he will stay there for 1 year and be a Laker after that contract expires.

No, the Paul talks failed because the NBA blocked the trade, and Dwight has explicitly said he wants to be in New Jersey.

I am completely shocked. I really thought Howard was going to the Lakers thats why they send Odom to Dallas-to open some salary cap. Of all places??!!!!!!
I mean, Lakers Main Office was very positive of Dwight coming to the Lakers, now he is saying he is going to the Nets? Now They lost Odom, Shanon as well. The bench is not promising. Not without Odom and Shannon!

Kobe on Lamar: "I doubt Mark Cuban protests this trade"
Mon Dec 12, 2011 3:55 pm
Micky Arison should step up and veto this trade for the sake of justice and fairness. We can't let superstars like Odom dictate the market and decide where they play and not.

Nets is Howard's 1st choice like the Knicks was Paul's. Howard is open going to Lakers the same way Paul was open in going to the Lakers or anywhere Dwight Howard is.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-cli ... 5892.storyClippers are close to deal for Chris Paul with Hornets
The deal hasn't been completed, but both sides were in the closing stages of the negotiations.
The Clippers would send the Hornets center Chris Kaman, backup second-year guard Eric Bledsoe, second-year forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the No. 1 draft pick they got from the Minnesota Timberwolves that is unprotected in the 2012 draft, considered to be one of the best in recent years.

Why the hell would lakers trade Odom to a playoff rival for no players in return?
Mon Dec 12, 2011 7:05 pm
To cut costs?
Mon Dec 12, 2011 7:25 pm
They couldn't have traded him to a team that they don't have to beat to get to the finals?
Mon Dec 12, 2011 8:32 pm
Looks like Stern wants Hornets to go young, lose a lot & have two high lottery picks in a weak draft & potentially pick up a new face for the franchise. Not a bad move if it happens
As long as Clippers don't give up Gordon, I'm fine with them doing this deal.

because he was a sad little puppy dog after he was traded? He would've played like Pau did after his gf broke up with him earlier this year

me too, apparently it was between sending gordon or sending kaman & the Minnesota pick so obviously the better choice was sending the pick. (as long as sterling doesn't get cheap and not match the DeAndre offer)
Mon Dec 12, 2011 9:13 pm
I'm guessing he'll match. For all the talk of his cheapness, the Clippers have matched most (if not all) of the offer sheets their major free agents have signed elsewhere over the past decade.

Because the league would get a better deal when finally selling the Hornets? Ah it's all about money...
About Dwight going to the Lakers: Dwight may be wellcome in LA but please keep Hedo away...

Good luck to anyone who thinks they can get Dwight without taking Turkoglu.

A weak draft? This is supposed to be the strongest one since 03
